Poor quality of service and defective equipment
Having moved to Bhubaneswar I purchased my Dish TV on 25th August 2007 with one year free viewing time with Telugu regional package. To me it was problem time from that day onwards. I shall serialize the issues here under.

1. Audio on its own going down. Try to switch between various channels with full volume like mad, you will suddenly explode with full volume. A disgusting affair for me and a nuisance to the neighbors.
2. Every now and then on many channels, we will get problem code "301-No signal - Check whether antenna or STB is properly connected"
3. I was not getting the free to air DD channels at all for quite a long time after installation. Now I have been getting them for the past one month when the realigned the antenna and repaired my STB (second time). Of course, the problem of no signal is with most other channels.
4. Contrary to the claims of 99.96% uptime with best quality of service, the signal goes off in many channels if we face a thick cloud cover itself. If it is slight drizzle the whole equipment is pretty useless. The signal returns much after the drizzle stops.
5. It is advertised that once you register your mobile with Dish TV, you are automatically recognized when you call their Customer Care. This is a blatant lie. Every time I call up, I had to go thru the religious of entering my 11 digit VC number. The travails do not end there. The Customer Service executive again asks for your VC Number and other information like your address for confirmation that you are the same person who bought the service from them. Then they start giving you useless and irritating advices like after switching on the equipment leave it for 10 hours on channel 555 or remove the VC and reinsert and the like. Very very disgusting and nauseating affair to deal with dish TV.

After all this if some one wants to still buy Dish TV it is nothing but suicidal.

After sale service
Even after registering 5 complaints in a span of more than 15 days, dish tv engineers doesn't come to fix the problem. Our TV is really lying as black box & we are just helpless how to get it repaired.

No access to preferred channels
Inspite of specific mention of 'Marathi Language Zone] in Subscriber Application Form bearing No.4280859 submitted through dealer, viz. M/s Krishna Agencies of Surat, and making advance payment of one year subscription for that, I am unable to watch marathi channels and 'No Access' asking me to again subscribe for these channels appears on the screen. Complaints made to dishtv and to the said dealer are unfruitful and unattended. I have wasted money. People should refrain from opting for dishtv.

Non existent customer care
I am completely at my wits end about what do with this completely incompetent company. I am hoping someone will read this complaint here and do something about it. I have been making complaints about my non functional set top box for the last month but all i get is another complaint number and a canned dialog about resolution in 24-48 hours. I would like to know how many minutes there are in each hour of dish tv. During the course of this month i also had to renew my connection while the set top box remained non functional, its not even coming on. Before renewal they wouldn't even take the complaint saying your account is overdue.

I am close to going to the consumer court as i think that is the only way to wake this cheat company up. Not only is it not fixing its faulty product but it also expecting me to keep paying for the service.

Poor service
I brought the Dish TV on 25th Sunday (Chandra traders, champ road chennai) and informed that it will be installed within 2 days. No one came after that, I was asking the dealer who response is that it will be done today. I spoke to the dish TV customer service, who told that installation & charges will be taken by the dealer, if they want to install then i need to pay Rs.350 more and again for the package, Which gives a clear idea that these dish tv service is a real bullshit. and I wont recommend to anyone. Its now been around 2 weeks without any proper response.

Fraud business practices
Fraud business practices! I am a DishTV subscriber from the last one month & my VC No. is 01505469095. I've taken 3months paid scheme and choose Bengla regional pack from their regional language pack but not only I 'm unable to view that bengla channels but also when I ring up to their customer care of East region (Kolkata) nobody like to pickup the phone call, I tried it for so many times to for help in this regard i.e. it call to them on 033-60013474 (as per DishTV's booklet). So I suggest other customer not to take help even in problem from DishTV's customer care of East region, you'll only loose your money by calling them for your problem. So be santust for DishTV's poor services and supports. This is not my first mail of complain to them, Once the product will sold they become dead for their customer. Neither they (Customer care) pickup their customer phone for any problem but also not responding any complain which is given vide e-mail.

SURRENDER DISH TV
i buy a dish tv on 08-April-2006 but from 1st day my experience with dish tv customer care is very bad becasue they don't know how to speek with customer. and they also dont know the proper knowldege of thier procut. that's way i want to surrender my connection but when i send a mail in this regard to dish tv but they dont reply my mails. finaly when i talk to him than they give wrong information and disconnect my call. because i know in dish tv there is no body know how to surrender a conection. if you want to confirm plese talk to any body in zee tv

Non installation
Dear

I am completely and utterly disgusted with the kind of service (or complete lack of it) by this company officials. Before I get in to details i would like to provide with the facts:

Purchase place:Big Bazaar, Sahara Mall Gurgaon
Date of first complaint: 21st April 08

Since the day i lodged my first complaint, all i have got is assurances and promises that were never kept. I have spoken to Neelima (promised me within 2 days time install the dish tv kit.) Then I spoke to Sarvesh ( promised me within 24 hours time install the dish tv kit). Then I spoke to Pankaj (promised me within 1 day time install the dish tv kit). as obvious as it is, it did not happen and so i called up again on 25th and spoke to Saleem. this time he was more forthcoming and accepted that his colleagues lied to me (may be because they did not anything about the product) and told me that it wil take minimum 7-10 days time to install the kit. I thought here is finally one guy who knows his product and waited for 10 days as i was asked. But Saleem to turned out to be one of the pack. Nothing happened.
So i called up your helpline no. again on 1st and spoke to Prozo (i think thats the name, he too promised me within 1 day time install the dish tv kit.) Nothing happened so i called on 2nd again. This time i spoke to one Antariksh and his supervisor. This time too like earlier times your call centre executives declared that the people i spoken to earlier did not do much to work on my case and so Mr. Ayush (i guess he is a senior guy) told me he himself has sent a mail to the concerned technical department and hence the kit would be installed within 24 hours.
Obviously by now you also must have got the trend. This guys words too fell flat as no dish was installed again for 8th time.
Finally i spoke today to Rakesh, vikash and Ashwani. All promising me 24hours time for installment.


If you didnot have the pateince to go thru my writings, then you might as well understand what i have gone through. I am really at loss of words to describe the services (shoddy sounds better in fact). But worse than the service is the customer service people who dont have any idea what they are supposed to do or say.

Dish antenna not supplied
Hi,

This is to bring to your kind notice that I had taken the address and phone no. of a dish TV dealer from their website.

They took the cheque for amount 3990/- on 12th April 2007 and installed the connection on 13th april 2007 from a dish which was installed by the vendor for common purposes on roof top of the multi-storeyed society flats where I live.
They told me that my personal antenna will be given to me the day after.
But uptill now, I haven't received any.
I have contacted the dealer ( 9811684455- Mr. Kirpal) and he has done nothing regarding it.
The sole responsibility for the dealer conduct is on DISH TV, I logged a call and was told that the dish antenna would be given to me when I shift to a premises which requires a private antenna to be

Please help me in this regard or else I shall be left with no option rather than going to the CONSUMER PHORUM for this issue.
