misleading contract
I signed up for a 2-year contract for Dish TV at $56 per month. It has only been 3 months and they raised the price. To get out of the contract I would have to pay $367. Beware!!

Billing increase without explanations
Did something silly and incredibly stupid I signed a 2 year contract with Dish TV for TV service. Sounded like a good deal. 19.95 for the first year with a 15.00 increase for the second year. I turned down the HD service (which they were charging for at the time) the Showtime for a penny, the DVR service all I wanted was the TV channels.
Then I get my bill last month guess what after taxes $54.95 HOLY SH!^ must be a mistake right? Nope seems like what I was told and what I agreed to in the contract are two separate things.
According to Dish TV customer service today 3/20/11 (or if you like Clark Howard customer no service) their contract allows them to raise their rate every year if the want to.
WHAT????? I cannot find my original contract to dispute this but this is a shady underhanded way or strong arming extra money out of their customers who are stuck in a contract.
If I want them to come and get their crap out of my house the cost for ending the contract early is $150 cash. Wow talk about getting screw@) so I have to wait until October 2nd 2011 to cancel or pay the lying bastar)$ to come and get their equipment.
I do not want much just the bill I was supposed to have not this new bill. Best they could do take off the Stars which is supposed to be free for a year because of their 30th anniversary (that I did not ask for) and give me a $5 credit.
When I asked if the company really wanted me to tell everyone I can possibly tell never to sign a contract with Dish TV for the small amount of money and to lose a customer for life the guy said go ahead tell anyone you want.
So there it is Dish TV does not care about its customers and does not care if they are satisfied to the point of not caring if we trash their reputation because essentially they do not have one.
DO NOT EVER sign a contract with Dish TV they do not care about you and will at any time just raise your bill and you are stuck with it unless you want to pay them $150 to have them come pick up their equipment and finally be done with them.

poor reception
Dish Tv sevice is very poor.Whenever there is slight thunder storm or rain, many of the channels not many but most of the channels are gone.When the rain stops also, the channels do not come back.I have to call the call centre(which also has poor service) and they send the concerned person.The person charges and this has become a recurring expense for me every 2-3 months. I am facing this for alst 2 years.

inconvinience
i have bought a samsung tv of 26 inches from sargam electronics adarsh nagar new delhi 33 on 6 march then i got free subscription of dish tv with samsung tv and i registered the dish tv on same day then i got complaint number and all the required details.then i called at 18601803474 the person i talked told me that we will get the subscription in 72 hours from now then after 3 days no one came and i got no response from them .then after three days i called them again about the inconvinience that i faced he registered my number again on thursday and gave me complaint number 55274469 then he told me that we are sorry and provide u service in next 24 hours but then we once again faced inconvinience then isame happened on friday on saturday the agent of delhi 39 called me that u live in delhi 33 so we will not provide u service instead of us the agent of delhi 33 provide u service in next six hours but after six hors no one came then my dad came from the office and i told him about this pathetic service of dish tv then he called them and scolded them and ask the number of some higher authority the number is 9873931032 then my dad called and for first three times he didnt pick our phone and forth time he pick our call and my dad scolded them too and after an hour he send us a sms inquiring that manoj rathi will come on sunday and his number is 9654384965 then on sunday i waited till 8:30 pm but he didnt came we called him 32 times but nobody picked the phone ...we got to know in this week that dish tv is number one in this world nd i appreciate ur pathetic service and ur work we felt sick of ur service and we waisted a lot of money on phone calls resulting in inconvinience we r very happy that our cable vala is thousand times better than ur sick service

I saw a commericial for dish network 24.99 120 channels for the first twelve months i also included a dvd free for the first twelve months also well now thatt the year is up my bill has jumped from 33.92 a month to 67.83 a month i don't received half the channels my parents receive and they are paying the same amount for direct tv and i also checked on the bill statement im also charged a plan charge this is so ridiclous when tis contract is up im stwitching to time warner or direct t.v.

weak signal
My VC no. is 01504884294 .I complained at the noida call centre on the 19 th of feb vide complaint no.54391517. I was told that the complaint would be resolved within 24 hours .But I am sorry to say that no effort was made from your end to resolve the problem .I again complained on the 21st but to no avail. on the 22nd vide complaint no.54549008when I called the call centre I was told that twice my phone was switched off when they called .This is not possible as I have a single number and can not afford to keep it off. I am a preferred customer and do not expect such service from dish tv .four days and the problem is still where it was. I want to cancell my subscription and want a refund from you so that I can look for another better service provider

Pathetic Service - Dish TV HD
I got a Dish TV HD Platinum connection installed at my place on 11th Feb 2011 and my VC no. is 01511820185. After half an hour of the installation, suddenly due to bad weather, signal got dropped and signal error message started showing up on my TV. After waiting for long I did a complaint on their customer care no. 1-860-180-3474 on 13th Morning around 10 am and the complaint no. is 54123877. I talked to Ms. Bindu who is a customer care executive and she assured me that the engineer will visit my place within 24 hours. But as expected, engineer did not visit my place & the problem is still there. Then I called customer care in 14th morning and got the same response from customer care executive and that day also no body visited my place. I again called customer care on 14th Feb evening but did not get any response. Today is 15th Feb and its now more than 48 hours since I’ve launched a complaint but no body visited my place and the problem is still there. I’ve tried customer care no. 6 times since morning. Out of it 2 times I’ve been put on hold for more than 20 minutes & then suddenly call got dropped.
1 time I speak with Mr Ajay who is the supervisor for customer care and he assured me that engineer will visit my place by 15th evening 4 pm and he assured a call back on my no. Neither the engineer visited to my place nor I got a call back from the service center.
Then 1 again called the customer care & while the executive was connecting me to the supervisor suddenly because of no reason call got disconnected.
Then 1 called for the fifth time and talked to Mr. Dheeraj, who also says is the Sr. Supervisor for customer care. I asked them to refund my money and disconnect the connection as I’m highly dissatisfied from the services & irresponsible behavior of the customer care. He managed to convince me with the assurance the today only my problem will be rectified.
Finally I got a call from no. 9654384974 which is an authorized customer service center and they said that engineer will visit to my place by 6 pm. But again a fake commitment and no body visited my place. Infact when I called them for the follow up, they disconnected my call. I called them again and again for 4-5 times and all the time they disconnected my call. Later on they put their no. on not reachable mode.
From all the above events you can easily make out the kind of harassment Dish TV customers are facing. This shows the delinquency, irresponsibility and non-courteousness of DishTV towards its customers. Even the senior management do not care about the customers, so what can we expect from the customer care executives.
You cannot play with customer’s time & money so I want you to take some serious action against all those who are involved in the whole incident and let me know the further action taken on this complaint. If you are not taking any action on this complaint then also plz let me know so that I take this forward in other way to the larger forum.
