Overcharge/ripping off
I just got off the phone with Dishnetwork, fuming.
I ordered their $24.99 per month service in January. All I want is to watch some news and some kid's stuff. When they came to install, the guy set up everything and told me he has included HBO/Showtime. I said I don't need it. He said I already ordered that and it's free for 3 months, and you can cancel anytime online or call-in.
Coming April, I received the e-mail notice of statement (they demand automatic credit card charge upon ordering) that was $60 +. Tried calling, long wait. So I got online, take off the HBO/Showtime. The screen said: " Your request has been processed." Next month, bill was $65. I tried calling them, long wait and I was really too busy to hold so got online and change the programming again. June, again $65+. I quickly sent them an e-mail: you are over-charging me." No reply. July, $67+.
Finally, I got through to them today. The representative was nice, apologized and took off HBO/Showtime. I asked what about the past months' overcharge. He again apologize but nothing he can do. So I asked to talk to their supervisor. This guy basically said "why you didn't call us earlier? You can't get free program." I tried to explain to him what happened. He still implied that I was trying to get free programming. God know that I haven't watch any HBO stuff at all. I got so angry and told them that their business practice is really just ripping off their customers and this will definitely not do them any good long term.

I am wondering other than complaining here, is there something else I can do.

When we had been signed that contract with Dish they promised us Movie channel for a year. We let them use our bank to draft the money. Then we noticed that they never gave us any movies in begin with. So we closed the drafting withdrawal from our account. Then, we called them to lower our package on devises which we no longer needed. They send us the package and we send the Box (devise) back. Next Monday we noticed that they went in our bank without any authorization and withdrawal 100$ from account. I called and was connected with a woman she did not speak English that well and she told us that they had the right because the devise was not received yet. I told her that i close the account month ago so you all will get billed and she [promised me that she will deposit the money on Monday. Well Monday came and she did not deposit it back to the account. Her name is Minnie Adoko, 7205148555 ext. 70838 and I like to complain about this company that had stolen money out of our account and never had really stand up for what they Advertised and now we still have no clue and we have no rights to be justified in this case. We have all documents and also recordings such as what I had been discussing with Ms. Minnie Adoko from Dish Network, and I will report this also to the B.B.B then we need to speak up with people like them we next few month will discontinue with them and therefore they lost another customer.

Collection Agency
I have been with dishnet work more than 10 years. We do not have any contract with Dishnetwork. Recently we went to out of town and we cancelled the services. After two months one day the collections agency called me and told me that I owe $12.40. I was surprised. The company never send me any statement or bills and never called me. For that amount they went to collection agency. After so many years I had a dishnet and for only for that amount they went to collection agency..

being lied to & stealing
I was with dish for about 4 years in the bundle of embarq. I decided to get away from the bundle and deal directly with dish. I had paid my bill with embarq that would be last bill through them and would pay dish from from that point on. But Dish starting demanding i pay them and i would need to get my money back from embarq also they wanted me to pay a month in advance, this would total about $231.00 for what i don't know, It's like they play a game with you puttingyou with one person after another guessing over this one problem i talk to about 14 people rude each one tells a different story, besides in so many words calling me a liar, as well as other insults. When i realized i was getting nowhere with them i told them to cut it off and before we were off the phone it was cut off. Its a sad day when those who you turn to to fix a problem act like they are some kind of God who holds the button to change your life. WARNING they are pertending to help us who have been hit by hard weather lately but don't hesitate to ake away your local channels so you can perpare. In closeing i pray that my Lord & savior give to them 10 fold of what they give to me. The CEO of the co. says he started Dish co. Knoxville Tenn. I have lived in Tenn. all my life and most of us say what we mean & mean what we say.

Improper Billing
I have been billed for almost 15 months depite a lack of service for most of that time and repeated requests to have my subscription dropped. I want a full refund and an apology from Charlie Ergen. Early 2010 I purchased a Dishnet satellite system from the Satellite Guys(??) and signed up for a Dishnet subscription. After two months the service stopped and several calls to support failed to find the problem. I believed and was encouraged to believe that the problem was at my end. Throughout 2010 I tried various things at my end and made calls to support without success. Finally in Dec./10 I spent 3 hours on chat until I was finally passed up to Corey at Level 3. He immediately determined that my box had been dropped from the list (DP311) and if I paid $7.95 it would be restored. I did and it was. Annoyed at the fact that I had paid almost 1 $1, 000 because of the failure of Dishnetwork I made three attempts to have my subscription cancel each time being given assurances that this had been done. On 3/12/11 I had a long online chat with Mark (LQ3) and I was again assured that my subscription would be canceled and he suggested I print the chat transcript as proof. This I did but my credit card is stil being billed as of this month. In today's high tech world I realize that things can fall through the cracks but this is rediculous. For starters fire the programmers. If someone's box is dropped obviously he cannot receive the service so it should be automatically suspended along with the billing.

Full of liars in Customer Service
I called during 4-5 PM EST to downgrade my Hindi mega pack to Hindi Super pack and add Dish America pack. I was told that it requires Digital Receiver(as Dish America needs that). After seeing my track record-Support person(lady) agreed for free upgrade to Digital receiver without any contract obligation or any fees. The new receiver will be shipped to me. I couldn't see the change in another 2-3 years and then called back during 8-9 PM EST.Before that i had a chat session for 15-20 minutes but nothing can be conveyed. In the second call i come to know that i have to pay $100 for the Dish Antenna(which came as a surprise to me as i was not told about it) and i need to get into another 2 yr. contract. I had almost 3 calls with Dish network thru out the day and every time it's a different version i am hearing. There is no integrity out here and no honesty at the first place. The existing customers are not at all treated well.
In one way or the other they just want to take money from the Customer or force them into another contract. Can't trust them anymore.

Unbelievable attempts to exhort money.
Beware Beware. Dishnetwork added unknown $8 dollars to my account. It was for a service agreement. I did not authorize but was directly deducted from my account for 6months. I called in to inform that the used receiver that they provided was faulty. They mentioned service plan. I said I did not authorize a service plan. They discontinued immediately. Did not offer refund and then attempted to bill me $95 for repairs. They will not prorate service plan and will not reinstate the plan to cover faulty receiver. I signed up for America's Top 120 at $34.99, 12 month contract. They now say because of rate hikes that it is $39.99. Despite contract. Now they are charging taxes. Atop that I was suppose to get an HD receiver. However the creep who installed it did not have one on hand. He said I would get one when available. He installed USED receiver. They will not let me get an HD receiver and want to bill me $250 even though it was included "Free" when I signed up. They are the most manipulative, deceptive company I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. As soon as my contract is up I will never deal with them Again. Think twice before Signing up with Dish Network. CROOKS CROOKS LIARS CHEATS

Billing
After just two months service with DishNetwork, they raised my monthly fee up $5 from the amount I contracted for 1-year's service. They stated, when I called to complain, that it is explained "in the fine print" that they are allowed to increase your rate at anytime DishNetwork decides to increase. This is false advertisement and gets the consumer lured in to a "great" deal that is no longer great and ties you in to their service. You can be sure I will cancel my subscription immediately after my year is completed.

DishNetwork and DirecTV have too much of a manopoly in this business. I am glad that the internet is starting to stream TV. Someday, that will be the trend with more company choices.

VOD PPV Charges
I have been a customer of Dish for more than 2 years. Until now, I had been satisfied with their service. Recently, VOD and PPV movies started showing up on my bill -- but have never been purchased by me or anyone in my household. They were very nice the first time I called and told me how to lock my receiver so that I could not "accidentally" purchase movies. I locked the DVR and picked out a code that no one would know -- there's only me and my husband in the house anyways (even he does not know the code!). Since that time each month, I have gotten charged for movies that I allegedly "purchased using my remote" on my Dishnetwork.
I have NEVER purchased movies from Dish. I refuse to pay 6.99 for movies when I can go to Redbox and rent them for $1. I have called and told them this and they are now refusing to refund any of my moneys. THey swear that I did them -- I am well respected person who does not "cheat" anyone. I am now getting up to 4 movie charges a month on my account and they do not believe me. They will not send anyone out to look at it -- they will not replace my DVRs or anything. So far I been charged for 6 movies at $6.99 plus tax each. $44 and change all together. They just wont do anything. As of today, I called and will get service through the local cable network instead. Dishnetwork is FINISHED STEALING MY MONEY!

Will not remove or take back dish
I stopped Dishnetwork's service. I returned the DVRs, remotes and specified items as directed. I asked about the dishes on the roof. I was told that they do not remove or take them back. For a fee, they can arrange to have somebody take them down. It is their equipment and they installed it so I feel that it is their responsibility to remove and discard them as they see fit.

If this is a policy of theirs, I think that they state this when they sell their service.
