I purchased a 1966 Ford Galaxie from this guy Kevin. The car was listed on Ebay as a frame off restoration. " A trailer Queen" meaning that the car was perfect and a show car. I spoke to the guy on the phone numerous times and asked many questions before purchasing the car. A price of 22, 500 dollars was agreed upon as well as another 500 dollars in shipping cost.
When the car arrived at my home it was immediately evident that the dealer had lied. The cars transmission slipped and would not go in reverse. The radio and air conditioning did not work, The upholstery was far from what he said it was. The car had bondo and rust bubbles in the paint.
I called Kevin and he said the car was perfect when it left his place and that he would do nothing. I asked for a partial refund and he said I was trying to extort money from him.
I ended up reselling the car for 18, 000 dollars and taking a major loss, but at least I was truthful with the new owner and pointed out all of the problem areas to him.
The moral of this story is not to buy a car from this guy on ebay without going to inspect the car in person. If he ships you a car you can not trust his word and it will be a total crap shoot as to what you get.
