Doctor attached to Pasir Ris Polyclinic Reviews

Linda Inderjit Kaur July 13, 2010
Doctor
On 13th July 2010 I went to the Pasir Ris Polyclinic as I was not feeling well.

Firstly, I arrived at the clinic just as they were breaking for lunch, it was 1.00pm. I wanted to have a seat and wait at the registration floor for them to start after lunch. I was told that I could lnot wait inside and was asked to queue outside the clinic. They only open again at 1.45pm for registration.

Imagine, as it is I left the office because I was not feeling well. Then I'm told to stand and wait for 45 minutes before they start registration!! Anyway, I did as I was told and stood first in the queue.

When the doors opened at 1.45pm I was the first and given a queue number 149, Room 16, second floor. It was now 1.48pm when I took a seat outside room 16 and waited for the doctor.
Doctor Yong took his time to settle down for the afternoon clinic. Other doctors were already seeing patients, but even being first to receive the queue number, my number only appeared at 2.15pm.
Now comes the worst scenario of all. Doctor Yong takes his time to acknowledge me when I have entered the room. Asks for my name and then asks what is wrong. I told him that I was not feeling well since yesterday, told him the symptons which he just acknowledged. He then asked if I needed an MC for the same day and I said yes -as I had left the office and needed to show the MC to cover for not going back to the office for the rest of the day. He then asked me if I wanted the MC for the next day as well. I said yes, just in case I was not well enough to report to work. Then I read the prescription that he had printed out, and I asked him if he could give me stronger medication as I really needed to get back to work the next day. He looks at me and says, "I do not have a magic wand to make you feel better". I was taken aback and told him, "Dr Joel, you are not very helpful". His reply, "There is nothing I can do about it", and just snickered at me.
Is this the kind of behaviour and attitude a medical professional should be showing?????
