rude assistant manager
I have been a customer of Dollar General in Giddings Texas for years and never have I been treated so rudely by anyone as I did by the assistant Manager whos first name is Angelica. She is very rude not only to customers but I have seen and heard her yelling at fellow employees while customers are around. She hasnt been there long but she has cost the store at least one customer.

messy store
i have been in that store this week and everytime it has been a mess.ido a lot of business there and this is the worst i have every seen it.if they do not have enough help hire more or the best solution would be to stay after hours and clean it up. you are going to lose your business.thank you joanne quinn

customer service
hibe priorly had problems at this particular store and there was one lady who acted and voiced that i was a thief. Which by the was i am not and was not at that time and haven't been for years. Which is why it aggravated ME SO. Anyway i tried to speak with another lady about it and was rude and would nou hear me out and almost a year later at the same store i was shopping only to hear yelling about thats why they have carts and don't do it again so i figured it was an associate yelling at another associate and when i said it's not polite to yell in front of customers i was all the way at the back of the store btw she said she wasn't she was yelling at her and pointed at another customer! And for what? Placing the items on the counter to purchase them and at the last minute ran to get a candy bar! I couldn't believe it so i voiced that that is no way to treat a customer to insure they come back. The woman says you've said that before and here you are and i looked and it was the same two women as last year! What do i do

Rude...no customer service
On Nov. 7th I purchases 4 items from this store...Amount paid $15.58 for items. Day or two later tried to return the pet bed for $5.00. The sales person said could not return until check cleared. So I went back to store on Nov. 17th to return the pet bed. The person who was at register this time was Richie...think he suppose to be manager or assistant manager in that store. Anyway, he asked what problem was..I said, cat wasn't interested in the bed, so wanted to return it. I gave him the receipt. I had items I wanted to purchase on counter. I told him I need my receipt back..he said I couldn't have it. He told me I could read refund rules. I told him it did not say you had to keep receipt. He said; yeah but I need it for all my paperwork. I said you could make copy; he said; don't have copying machine. Then he got hateful and said..Well, do you want it or not! I said ; give it to me (referring to the receipt). So I just took the receipt; left items I wanted on the counter and left the store. There was other customers around at this time; who could hear his hateful way. So today, Nov. 19th I went to Vincennes; wanted to see how it would be to return it in this store. I returned it; got refund and inquired how I could file a complaint on Richie from Washington Dollar General Stoare. When I ask for refund Bonnie took care it very simply and kindly. She spoke to follow employee there very nicely when she questioned her about something. Then Bonnie went and got Annette (manager or assistant manager of that store). Annette was very kind and helpful to let me know what I should do when treated wrong.

Poor Service/Customer Service
There are two girls who work at the Dollar General Store on Highway 76 in Clinton, South Carolina, who are rude, unprofessional, and ignorant. They stand behind the counter and make nasty jokes and comments about customers. I've spoken to four other people who have also witnessed this behavior. I asked one of the female clerks if they had motor oil, and she told me that if I don't see it, they don't have it. What arrogance! Who is training these lazy, foolish people? What ever happened to good customer service? My supervisor bought some donuts at the same Dollar General Store I'm referring to. She says that the donuts were extremely stale. Evidently, those clerks are too lazy to pull outdated items from the shelves. My supervisor didn't return the donuts in order to get her money back because, as usual, the clerks didn't give her a receipt. I hadn't thought about it before, but the few times I've shopped there, I have not been given a receipt. They do this in order to cover their butts, and you won't have proof of your purchase. I will always ask for a receipt everywhere I shop from now on, and I hope every other shopper will do the same. I will not ever shop at Dollar General again!

I JUST LEFT D.G.S. AT 3615 DAYTON BLVD. I WENT THREW THE LINE 3 TIMES BECAUSE I FOR GOT A FEW THINGS WELL I RAN ACROSS SOME MARKED DOWN SHIRTS LONG SLEEVED. THE FIRST ONE RANG UP A PENNY WELL I GOT THAT ONE AND 2 MORE JUST LIKE THE FIRST WHEN I TOOK MY BAGS TO THE TRUCK I WENT BACK IN THE STORE TO BUY A FEW MORE PENNY SHIRTS HEATH THE STORE M.R.G. TOLD ME AFTER SHOPPING WITH D.G.S. FOR 20 PLUS YEARS THAT HE HAS TO PUT THE SHIRTS I HAD IN MY HAND TO BUY IN THE TRASH WOW WHAT A MAN HE SAID IT IS STORE POLICE FOR HIM TO TRASH THEM HE CAN NOT SELL THEM TO ME BECAUSE I FOUND HIS MISTAKE NOT NO FAULT OF MY ON THE OTHER SHIRTS RANG UP 80 CENTS I GOT THEM ANY WAY WAY TO GO AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS NOT ANY MORE THAT JUST COAST HIM A LIFE LONG CUSTOMER

Awful management
We have a General Dollar Store in out small town. Its one of only 2 places we have to shop. They are not dependable. Suppose to open at 8am and you never know what time they are going to finally get the doors open. Lots of people have stopped going there all together because of the workers that are working there. They all look nasty and spaced out. Cant this be fixed?
People in this town are sick of things that go on there. The doors to the store was left unlocked one night. Are you aware of that. The people that work there are rude and refuse to help the customers. You need to send someone in to check it out that they are not aware of. Its pitiful

filthy background music
Several times in the past week I have gone to the Dollar General by my house. The background music is a station selected by the (mostly black) employees, & its FILTHY! Sex, violence, the thug life, "capping a cop", etc. How can I take my granddaughter in there with that garbage floating thru the air? We do not allow that music in our house, & I darn sure don't care to patronize a store that plays that kind of music-it says VOLUMES about the type of people they hire. After this site, I'm going to find the address for the corporate office, tho I doubt they'll be receptive, judging by these other complaints.

Bad Service /Bad Pructs
On 11/30/09 at 15:36:32 I purchased several items, one of which was a 6 pack of DR PEPPER soda. The checker bagged them for me, I placed them in the cart and exited the store. Upon arrivale at my truck I noticed my boot was wet.The 6 pk of soda was leaking through the bag, through the cart, and onto the ground.I the took the bag of soda back to door and ask one of the ladies what I should do with leaking cans, and if I could have an exchance.I was told that it was not their problem.and shunned off.Ithen took out the two leaking cans dropped in front of the door, and left with 2 cans shy of what I paid for. Come to find the other 4 was flat.

Bad Service/ Managment
This is my complaint against The Dollar General Store in my area! I usually visit this store several times a week and now have decided to NEVER EVER go there again. Everytime I go I have to wait for several minutes before I can find an employee to ring up my items and when they do show up it's due to the fact that I have to whistle or run around and try to find someone to help me. Then they are rude and disrespectful toward me because I am there and they to do something. Several people usually are lined up before service is available.
Also I have witnessed rude and unexceptable behaviour toward the hispanic race, as if these employees do not like and just don't have time to wait on them, I'm a white woman and not hispanic and still find it to be disgusting how these people are treated in public!!! Hopefully someone will see this and do something about this store! Oh and for the old lady that works there that makes rude comments to customers and asks personal questions that should not be asked, she should be fired for this behaviour!
