I sent a large amount of jewelry to Dollars for Gold in November 2010 and received a check for next to nothing. A called was made and my jewelry was requested to be returned. I was informed it would take from 6-8 weeks to process the request. I called them in April 2011 to see where my jewelry was and I was told that it had been melted down. They offered me a check for a small portion which I figured would be better than nothing. The check was to be received within 2 weeks. It is now early May and I have heard nothing. Will be calling in the morning to see if I can find out what is going on.
MY ADVICE IS "DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING - IT IS A SCAM - AND PLEASE ADVISE YOUR FRIENDS ALSO. i will also be filing a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OF ONTARIO AND LOOKING INTO SMALL CLAIMS COURT.

I would say you would have to be an idiot to send anything to this company without investigating them...but I was that idiot. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Now we`re out even more money. This company was created due to the economy, they do nothing but prey upon the poor. It should be a crime and commercials and advertising should have laws and regulations to abide by. The only thing we can do as a society is to become as untrusting and cinical as possible. It`s to bad that these kinds of sharks, these scums of the earth are allowed to do these scams so freely. They send others to jail for fraud, I suppose the law is only fraud on the government, the general public do not matter.
