I have an insurance claim with Domestic & General. My machine blew up last year 31/12/2010 & was diagnosed as irreparable. They wrote me a letter stating their supplier company Hoover would supply a similar washing machine & spec & gave me the serial no. to check. Hoover then called & advised, yes I could have that machine in black. Black only. There is nothing wrong with black but I have never had one & it does not suit my kitchen. It is not a similar specification as black & white are completely different colours of the spectrum. Hoover say it is up to Domestic & General as they take the direct debits. D & G state it is Hoover who cannot supply & up to them. In the meantime, I have no washer in the middle of winter with 2 adults & 2 young adults in the home. Hoover's policy seems to be as Henry Ford 's the car manufacturer.
"You can have any colour you want as long as it is black."
I have asked to speak to managers without any success. I have been hung up on. I have spent hours trying to resolve this without any success.
