I rented a duplex in wausau in one of the crappiest neighborhoods in wausau. The neighbors kids (over 7 at times) would play in the yard and my yard was pretty much the crosswalk for the whole neghbrhood so my kids hardly ever played outside. Plus theres creepy hairy centipedes! Its $450 to rent so it is $675 for the security deposit. No lawn mower provided so you have to find your own because you are responsible for mowing. The lease states the carpet has to be shampoo before you move out. Even though I spent $1500 on a kirby vaccuum with a shampooer, I was not allowed to use it towards my move out date. It gets better; the duplex was clean when I left, except for the stove didnt look like new, which I spent the most time cleaning. They charge me $74 altogether for it. The swinging screen door had one broken hinge when I moved in but the unthinkable happen 3 days before I moved out. I was doing the dishes and it falls over. No one was near it or touching it but he charges me $94 for it! It didnt even close right when I moved in! Altogether he kept around $500 of my $675 security deposit. Plus my shampooing bill of $132, Jesus Christ and they say they are church goers or robbers in my eyes! I have never been cheated like this from a landlord, $632 it cost me to move out even though everything was neatly the way it was when I moved in; except for the stove that was not completely like new and the door that fell from years of use! I would not rent from these people unless u want them to take a big chuck of your money! I am debating small claims!
