Poor Customer Service & Rooms
Upon arrival we were given the wrong room. We had paid in advance (Godzilla Fest) for a corner room King bed with a sleeper sofa & a view of the airport, since I have two small boys who love airplanes. The room had an airport view but no sleeper sofa. We called the desk and they said they would move us to a corner room with a sleeper sofa. No one came up to help move the luggage to the new room. My mother has back problems and is considered handicapped. The new room indeed was a corner room with a sleeper sofa, but the view was of an adjoining building & walkway. We called again & told them this was not acceptable. This time we were told that there were no more King rooms, but did definitely have a Double with an airport view. Again no help to move to this room. When we get to this room the ceiling is literally falling down due to water damage and you can see the mold. My son's eyes immediately begin to burn & he starts coughing due to his allergies. We call for the third time now and tell them this is not acceptable we want our money refunded, so we can move to another hotel. The Double Tree was the overflow hotel, since the new Hilton Hotel, which was hosting the event, was not completely finished and could not accomidate the entire convention. While on the phone my mother saw the exact room we had originally requested being cleaned. I asked if we could have that room and were told no because it had already been reserved for someone arriving later that evening. We were told their were no refunds & either we take what they had or it was our own tough luck. My father called Hilton, since he is an Honors member & was told he would be refuned the room, but as it ends up they lied about that as well.
