Customer Service, Product and Overcharges
The Doubletree Hotel by Hilton seemed like a safe option for 2 weary travellers seeking a simple night in with room service in a comfortable and relaxing environment. The staff, facilities, food and customer service failed in every aspect of our expectation. The hot water didn't increase past tepid; the computer system crashed on check-in, leaving a line of other tired and frustrated travellers waiting for over 30 minutes; the front desk, bus driver and especially the doorman 'John B' were incredibly rude, unhelpful and overall a total displeasure to deal with. The airport transfer driver made us feel like we were troubling him to take us to the terminal. When check-in was arranged, the hotel would not accept the credit card I specified. We then provided another credit card to act as a retainer, expressly detailing that it should not be charged. There have now been 2 charges added to this credit card, 1 of which was added after we complained about the initial transaction. The staff just can't seem to get it right! The room service menu advised that room service was available from 5 pm, but this was incorrect and actually was 7 pm as advised by the rude room service staff. When the room service arrived, the salads lacked ingredients specified on the menu. We called to enquire and were then brought a plastic tub of guacamole to make up for the missing ingredients. Not quite a great ingredient to a Cobb Salad in my book. A few last things, the movie network was down and the neighbours played loud music into the early hours of the night. I would like to mention to anyone reading this review that I have never written a review as negative as this. Best of luck if you stay here, I hope other experiences are better than mine.
