lying about connecting service
Services was disconnected because I still owed 60 bucks since tues, I called on Friday to find out what all I owed because I knew they had a reconnect fee. The lady(which I didn't get her name) told me I had a balance of zero n its gonna be 35 to reconnect & that I had a credit of 100, so I'm like well if I had a credit why r my lights off??? Why not take da 60 I owe 4rm the credit? Anyway she said it will b 35 to reconnect so that will bring my credit down to 60. She said it takes 24hrs to get services back on. I called Friday @ 11am, so sat @ 11am means they should be on right? I have a small child we go spend the night @ a friend's house. Come home sat night n they STILL aren't on!!! I call centerpoint because that's who dpi wrk with, & the lady told me no request for reconnection was not filed, so the lady @ dpi just lied to me.. my lights have been off since tues its Sunday & I understand its the weekend and tomorrow is 4th of July but what are my baby & I going to do?? I don't have gas to drive all over to stay with this person or that person. And I don't have money to go stay in rooms! I was told id have to wait till tues to resolve the problem they can't turn my lights on until they get a request which they don't have so I was lied to...we live in Houston mind you its been between 97 - 102 degrees out here so this is day 5 without lights. I'm HIGHLY pissed off because my child don't deserve to suffer in this heat like this.. I refuse to continue service with dpi let alone referr someone. I will be goin with another light company come tues.

Don't buy from them
Dpi energy review are all bad and I should have reviewed them before getting scammed by Dpi energy. They claim that they don't charge a deposit but that is a lie. They charge the HIGHEST RATES IN TEXAS. You will wind up paying way more right when you get the first bill from Dpi Energy scammers. I paid $139.00 to get started and 8 days later I got a bill for $386.34.
So they charge the highest rates and then you have to pay a deposit anyway. Their customer service people can't even speak english and are in India and that were your money goes. They are like robots and just say Yes maam. and don't do anything. Just call any other company. If you have a smart meter any company will get you going with no deposit. If you don't yet have a smart meter you should just pay a deposit and get low rates with any other electric provider.
Dpi Energy is a fraud and you should call the PUCT in Austin and complain to save your rights. Don't pay any bill they send because they got you to sign up with lies. Also contact the Texas Attorney General and file a complaint. Don't get ripped off by Dpi Energy.

EVEN HIGHRE EVERY MONTH
EVERY MONTH MY BILL GETS HIGHER AND HIGHER BY ATLEAST $60.00 WHEN WE DONT EVEN USE THE LIGHTS DURING THE DAY...WE WERE NEVER EXPLAINED ABOUT THEM ESTIMATING BILLS UNTILL WE ALREADY HAD SERVICE WITH THEM...SO THEY'RE BASICALLY SAYING THAT THEY ARE "GUESSING" THE AMOUNT THAT WE SHOULD PAY EVERY MONTH...WHICH IS NEVER A LOW AMOUNT BUT ONLY A HIGHER PRICE EVERY MONTH...THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED...& THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE...YOU WAIT ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO WILL MESS YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS UP...THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS...THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT GETTING THE MONEY YOU SHOULDNT BE PAYING IN THE 1ST PLACE...THIS HAS TO END...ARE YOU WITH ME?

my electric bill
dpi advertise $199.00 for 2bedroom, it never happen I have been with dpi almost 1yr and my bill keeps going higher not lower when dpi said it would drop after 6mth but that's faults I have e=mail and no respond from this money hunger company they don;t care there sorry for being in business, my bill is $901.15 for mth 2-1210 another bill FOR $691.72 mthof 1=13-10 I try talking to the agent or rep but they don't care !I'am not paying ! I'm sick of companys just runining over the poor folks no more .

WHAT THE HELL
COMPLAING ABOUT A REFUND THAT THESE BITCHES DIDN'T WANT TO PUT BACK ON MY CREDIT CARD. THEY GAVE ME AND MY WIFE THE RUN AROUND WITH NO ANSWERS AND A FAKE ASS CORPORATE NUMBER. I TRIED TOO BE NICE AND THEY PISS ME OFF EVEN MORE WHEN THEY SAID THAT IT CAN BE CREDIT TOO MY NEXT BILL. WHEN YOU MAKE A PAYMENT ONLINE THEY WILL WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE READY TO SUBMIT IT, WHICH YOU THINK THAT IT WENT THREW THE FIRST TIME AND IT STILL SHOW THE PAYMENT AMOUNT SO YOU RUN IT THREW THE SECOND TIME AND THEN IT WENT THREW 0.00 BALANCE THESE BITCHES IS STEALING MONEY ALL THE WAY AROUND .

DPI Audit Dept., claimed I was in a 3 bedroom apartment and they were tacking on an additionl deposit fee of $89.00. I called because for my one bedroom apartment with approximately 500 sq. feet received a bill of nearly $300. I don't have a washer/dryer or dishwasher and only stay in my apartment a few nights a week. I do everything possible to keep my electric bill at a minimum (turn off lights when not in a room, etc.) I am having to have my manager fax a copy of my lease to prove that I am in a 1 bedroom, very tiny apartment. The worst was when my employer called to inquire about my bill and pay it for me. A woman named Merari was terribly rude. She threatened to hand up on her if she didn't change the tone of her voice. Only when she asked to speak with her supervisor did her attitude change.
Of course, the supervisor was in a meeting. She finally told her she didn't need her to provide etiquite lessons, but to simply take the payment. From beginning to end this process took over 40 minutes.
Bottom line is that they have you pay the bill a month in advance and never read a meter. They claim they go by the previous years bill. I don't even think the meter is working on my side of the duplex and suspect they are charging me for both sides. Does anyone audit their practices? Sincerely, Lynette C. Johnson

Overcharges ! Estimated billing based on past history of usage or so you are told...don't be fooled ! As a new customer I was charged for 500 Kwh more than I had ever paid in over 2 years using other Texas electric providers ... and that was my first bill ! My usual June bill of around $400 suddenly became $700 ! When I contacted DPI about bills that were almost double what I had been paying to other providers I was told that if I was being overcharged they would refund the overcharges in 6 months, however they don't even read the meter ! Even if true which I doubt since most customers probably will not stay with this company for 6 months, it would mean (if they were to read my meter and actually be able to determine what the usage was ) they would owe me a refund of around $1200, or enough to pay my electric bill for 3 - 4 months through another provider.. But I do not expect to ever get any of the money I overpaid back since I have no intention of staying with this company and being overcharged ! I did file a complaint with the Texas PUC. Consumer Beware ! Read internet reviews and ask questions about company and their business practices before using them ! You are thought that other provider was high ? I'm switching back.

Horrible company
Company is horrible. This summer they added a $20 fee for no reason. I got charged for a disconnect and reconnect service...but check this out, I NEVER had a disruption of service...ever. I called to question this and never received an answer.
Every month my bill is going up about $50, I live in a 2 bed 980 sq ft apartment. How does this equal a $300 bill. I am furious and filing a complaint against this 'company'. Customer service reps...if you want to call them that act like they have no clue and sound like robots when talking to me. Would not recommend this electric service to my enemy.
I knew I shouldn't have became a customer when I called the number and a man answered on his CELL phone asking could he call me back because he couldn't hear me while he was driving. My service was set up only giving him my address...you get what you pay for...crap in this case.
