I had purchased a bus ticket on www.ebusticket.com, to travel from
Midtown NYC to Albany NY. I found this company through a website
www.ivymedia.com, which listed a fare leaving from NYC to Albany for $20
each way. When I clicked on the link to book a ticket from NYC to Albany
NY, it stated the requested link is missing. When I called up Dragon
Expressway to find out how to book the ticket for this price, they
stated ivymedia is now Dragon expressway and the ticket is not $20,
rather it is $25. I was disturbed by this, but I decided it was not a
big deal. After booking on www.ebusticket.com, the carrier was Dragon
Expressway, and was supposed to leave at 1:30 pm. The bus left at 1:40
and at 2:15, the bus broke down on the highway. The bus driver got out
with some liquid and proceeded to the engine. This led me to believe he
already knew what the problem was. The main problem I have is that from
2:15 until 6:35, there was no mechanic or replacement bus. That means
for a total of 4 hours and 20 minutes, customers were stranded somewhere
in New Jersey. I called multiple times to the office to find out where
the bus was, and no one knew. I had to send someone on the bus to the
store to get an address. Finally the bus was fixed at 7:15 and they made
their way to albany. A ride to albany leaving from NYC is supposed to
take anywhere between 2 and a half hours to 4 hours, depending on
traffic. The bus did not arrive in albany until 10:00 pm. This is not
the way a business should run. They told me they would either reimburse
me for my ticket, or give me a free one for the future. I elected
reimbursement, still with a hot head. They took down my order number and
told me it was done. I checked my credit card statement 5 days later to
find a charge for the fare, and no reimbursement. I called up the
company using an 800 number and 212 number, both leading to the same
employee, who told me if the bus arrived in albany, there is nothing she
can do and there is no such reimbursement. When I asked for a manager,
or another employee, she stated there is no one else there, and she does
not know when a manager would be in. What kind of business is this?
