Loss of work...
I am a professional Tattoo Artist. I was hired by a Vietnamese Family of fisherman as a Tattoo Artist in New Orleans. I worked on their family for the last 6 months. I was supposed to do another 6 months of work. Because of the BP oil spill, my clients are out of work as fisherman, and are currently spread across the gulf states trying to desperately help clean the Gulf State to protect their way of life. This has also put me out of business. They still wanted me to stay to finish large projects I had started on them, their monks, their martial arts instructors and family and friends. The work I have been doing has cultural in addition to religous significance. The damage of this spill is being passed on to all walks of life. I have to leave New Orleans 6 months early because of the devistation caused to the area and most importantly, all people, from all walks of life. This is a tragedy that will affect this area for to many years to come. I feel BP is solely responsible for the devistation of the most important fishing industry in the world and this is being passed on to the millions of people, from every industry in the area. Not just fisherman. Cooks, musicians, artists, realtors, hotel employees, the movie industry, ship workers, the airline industry, cruise ship employees, wildlife, plants, and of course most important of all, all life in the Gulf. Bp I feel will not be able to stop this leak for another year at least. They might as well be on the moon. Nothing has worked so far, and who is to say a relief well will help? It has never been done before. BP can stick it where the sun don't shine...Christopher Alexander Ackerman (Dragon Lance Tattoo).
