Jan 9 Due to an emergency situation I had to have some work done regarding sewer line backing up in my basement. I called Drain Rescue. I was told that due to the age of my house and mature trees that I would require a trenchless replacement job at the tune of $8900.00 this being due to the fact that the ground was frozen and a tree would have to be removed, sections of fence taken down and a pit to be dug in the alley and my back yard as well as jackhammering to my basement. I had agreed and paid a deposit of $4200.00. With the work to commence on a week and a half later (jan 23).
I had found out the next day the city will come and auger out the sewer mains. I had called them they came out and solved the problem within 2.5 hrs. They had sent down a camera to confirm that no pipes were damaged. I was told at that time no other repairs would be necessary. At that point I had contacted Drain Rescue and cancelled the upcoming job. He agreed that I would get my deposit back.
I have been calling both the Edmonton office and the Toronto head off and aslo the CEO of this company as well as the police.
I am getting the usual run-around from both the Edmonton company and the head office.
No work was done! Only the identification tree roots in the sewer line.
