I, on the advise of my son, had a room held until check-in on the 10th of July 2009. My bus pulled in late because of issues with the driver and number of passengers needing to board the bus. When my son finally picked me up it was close to noon and he refused to let me stay in the motel. It did not look like it was advertised on the web site and to put it bluntly the Sandy's motel in Decatur, Il looks far more appealing. I checked into the Econolodge down the street because it presented a neat and clean appearance unlike that of the Dreamland, which looked ill-kept and like a home for those who had no other place to stay.
I was shocked to find a charge for at least one night on the bank card that I use, with the addition of a overdraft charge . Since I did not show up to physically check-in by 1pm, what right do they have to charge me the use of room that I did not occupy. I paid cash for the room in the Econolodge and I was happy with its cleanliness and overall location.
My son was deploying the next day(11 July 2009) that was the reason I was there. Please contact me via email at [email protected] concerning this situation. I want my money back plus the overdraft fee they equal out to $100.00 plus the cost of my time to fill this out $25.00. They claim they lost use of the room, but when did not check-in the room was opened for use by other people.
Thanks for helping me and not making my sons deployment harder on me then it was.
