I am not a customer of Dr*** Finance, never have been and never will be! Why am I submitting a complaint? Because my neighbor borrowed my cell phone to call them and now they won't stop calling me. My phone number was never given to any representative at any time. Instead, Dr*** Finance uses some type of caller ID and records the telephone number of any customer that calls them.
My neighbor is going through a divorce and as a result, has fallen behind on some of his bills. He proactively contacted Dr*** Time to make payment arrangements because he knew he was going to be late on making his payments. He made this call from my home using my cell phone and at no time during the call did he give them my phone number.
Since then, they have called no less than 5 times. Once they spoke to my neighbor, who advised them that this was not his phone number and to stop calling him at this number. They called again twice after that and left voice messages, requesting that I call back regarding my account. They called again twice on 11/05/09. During the first call I stongly advised that this was my telephone number and that I did not have an account with them. The representative advised that he was removing my number as we spoke. 45 minutes later, I received another call. I asked for a supervisor or manager, since the previous reps had failed to remove the number. The rep I spoke to said it was not a manager/supervisor issue and after several requests for same, the rep hung up on me without escalating the call.
I called back at the number on my caller ID and the system still had my phone number on record. I spoke to another rep who swore that he was removing the number. I called again a little while later to register a complaint and my phone number was STILL IN THE SYSTEM!!! I then once again asked for a manager/supervisor and was given all sorts of excuses why she could not escalate the call. I explained that I would not go away until she escalated the call. She became defensive, even though I was not criticizing her and continued to talk over me.
When I finally got the manager/supervisor, she explained that the computer used caller ID to record the number and listed my number for the customer's account. She also advised that the number could not be purged from the system until midnight.
