fraud and cheating
in 2006 i bought a truck for 20, 000 dollars i made the payments two years (435.00 A MONTH . i got sick and couldnt work they started to call me everyday i told them as soon as i went back to work i would catch them up. they wanted 250.00 a week to catch me up . i told them i couldnt give them that much i have other bills and a family to take care of. they told me it was my problem not theirs. they said they would repo the truck if i didnt pay the amount they wanted.so i had to file bankrupt they came and took the truck at my workplace dont know how they got thought the locked gate.acording to the law they cant come though a locked gate or pick it up if you have filed bankrupte a judge has to give it to them. i paid 20, 000 for it payed 24 payments on it, they sold it for 4, 500 and sent me a final bill for 18, 000 dollars. my lawyer called them and theaten a law suit they have not called me anymore. they are pricks.

CAR LOAN
This IS the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with. I, like many others, have myself in a financial bind because of the economy and had to file bankruptcy. During my BK they received payments but did not apply them to my loan correctly. After my BK was dismissed, I never received any statements from them. I sent them money and they sent it back saying I was in BK and couldn't take my payment??? After 30 days, they had my car repossed for non payment and charged me for months they were already paid. it cost me $2500 to get my car back and I only owed them $385. I guess they don't need any help from the stimulous package because they are collecting more than enough money from their unhappy customers. Oh and by the way, my BK has been dismissed since February and here we are in June and I still can't get a statement from them.

lying should be illegal
This company has been a pain in my back side since I recieved my loan. I have been constantly called and just want to scream at these people every time I hear their name. I have requested to have a supervisor talk to me and have been transferred too many times. I now have this company calling my work. I also work in a call center and would never give the cs these people give. thank-god for trainning. They have went past rude several times and now I just let them talk to my husband. I guess their not impressed with his language. He's called everyone he's talked to a this, that, and diffenently some others. They now will only deal with me and stop calling my house. I hope they come and get the truck I have and wait patiently with the smile. I am amazed that after this long they really won't come and get the thing. My credit report dose'nt reflect any of the problems i had. The fact that I have asked for extensions and was told I had one. Then got the bill saying it was'nt approved. It only put me 1500.oo behind. Drive financial has made money off my account by lying and in esse4nce stealing my money.

Acceleration Clause - Do You Have One In Your Contract?
I would like to know how many Drive Financial customers are aware of the "Acceleration" clause listed on their retail installment contracts? Basically, it states that you the "Buyer" agree that if you fail to perform the 8 items listed...i.e. default on your loan (please see your contract for the complete listing) the holder (Drive Financial) may declare all unpaid installments of the "Total of Payments"...in my case this would total 33, 000.00, the cash price of the vehicle plus the finance charges. How is this even possible? when I saw this I was shocked and in disbelief at how they are getting away with being able to issue these unconscionable contracts.

Bank Rolled
Drive Financial has also bank rolled me with hidden fees, what I do understand is that our payments go into a lock box, so my guess is that our payments are being posted late. it is sad. I would like to be part of a class action lawsuit agaist them. I am tired of getting phone CALLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS all day long and my friends are getting these calls. Drive Financial will some how add an extra 5000.00 dollars to your car payment before you have it paid off. and they refuss to work with you. or explain why they add these charges
KEEP YOU PAYMENT HISTORY, YOU WILL NEED IT TO PROVE YOU HAVE PAID THESE ASS...

Communication
COMMUNICATION: Their communication sucks! I have advised them on numberous occassion that they are not to call me at my employers telephone number, which they have continued to do. And not to mention give a different name and company that they are calling on behalf of. Keep an ear out for EDWIN, not a good representative. All i have to recommend to you all that have them as a lender is DOCUMENT! DOCUMENT! AND DOCUMENT the time, date, and type of conversation and details that you have had with them. Cause there are so manyFDCPA violations there that its nto even funny! And people, don't get scared with their threats and verbal attacks. I hope that with all the complaints our there that they get noticed for all their violations. Keep reporting people. Our voice will be the bigger person in all this!

Out smart this harassing Company
I thought, I would add to the long list of bad dealings with Drive Financial. I also fell behind in my payments due loss of work, having the company close down. I explained what happened, but was harassed non-stop with constant threats. After gaining temporary work, I paid them $500 every other week. The harassment didn't stop, even though I kept every promise I made to them. Even with this, they trying to repo the vehicle on the day before the arranged pay I was to pay. That's when I FINALLY got smart. I warned them, If you don't stop the under-handed harassment and practices, I would become their worst nightmare. Of course, they continued and in fact they got worse. So I decided to use their over-bloated egos against them. They think, the general public is un-educated to laws and they can bully us into anything they say. WRONG!!!
I decided to make a bad situation run in my favor, taking control. Yes, I now have a big black mark on my credit; but only for a limited time. I refuse to give them the vehicle, just because they say so. They would sell it for pennies and I would still be stuck with the balance without anything to show for it. I changed my legal and mailing address to a relative's house, explaining the problem. I now live in a different state, which is perfectly legal. I notified all my contact people, Drive Financial would be calling. Two of these contacts are police officers, who are waiting for the false claims my being involved in bank fraud or vehicle thieft. They will make great witnesses in court, for damages in claiming I commited a crime. This is STRICTLY a cival matter, NOT criminal. With the type of work I do, it is impossible for drive to collect from my income. Besides, they have to get a court order for that and I can't wait for a day in court with them. They would also be exposing themselves to the many fines from violating collection laws. I have been driving my vehicle for over a year, without making even one payment. If it's going to ruin my credit, I sure made it worth it!!!

In closing, heres my advice in beating Drive Financial:
Don't panic, you can have the upper hand.
Record ALL contacts with Drive Financial and tell your references to do the same, your attorney will love you.
NEVER surrender your vehicle, it would improve anything for you.
Contact all your references and tell them what is going on, then have a big laugh when Drive calls.
REMEMBER, action outside repo requires REAL court orders and NOT their FAKE ones.
Check the repo laws in your state, they are strict. In my state, they can be chased off at gun point; if they are operating outside the very strict laws.
And most important, SMILE!!! Drive Financial are their own worst enemy, and that can be extremely entertaining!!!

Misleading
I agree with the complaints about Drive Financial...I purchased a vehicle last May..it took me 2 months to get my paperwork. The 10.95 to make a payment on the website is ridiculous.

charging an upfront fee to do loan
My daughter was approved for a loan through DeMontrond Dealership at 14101 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77090. She was approved through Drive Financial. The finance manager said that due to the high risk the finance company was charging a 1600 fee to the customer for doing the loan and then on top of that they were charging her an interest rate at 24.68% because the car was a 2002 model. Can all this be legal? Please contact me at [email protected].
