harasssment
Please help,
I have had debt collectors call before and have some thick skin and it is hard to get on my nerves but this, this is making me insane and it's not even a debt collection, really, it's a bad credit warning.
DTE's automated voice past due pay or receive bad credit, whatever you want to call it, has called hundreds of times, sometimes 5-6 times and day, everyday Mon-sat, starting at 8am exactly, noon, and 4, and sometimes a extra call or 2 like 6 last night and a oddball here AND I don't even have a shutoff notice and they say there is no way to stop it, it's automated, and it usually does not call that much. I have done everything. I have called them and said I need the shutoff notice and then the fia office will help me please stop that thing calling, and 3 different operators told me they cannot stop it it is computer automated(if they give me there pass-code, I'll stop it) and since I will not receive and shutoff notice till I am 60 days late and i am only thirty something the only way to stop it is pay the bill! I have pushed the buttons saying they have reached the wrong number like 6 times, I went along with it and when said is this Brian pressed the right buttons and then it say's, sorry your number is not registered with us, Then why do they keep calling? I called and asked that to a DTE operator and They said you are registered so there pretty much. The one operator did not believe I was getting called that much till he looked it up and said that was "weird", but he could not stop it. What can I do? Is this not harassment? It is not even a debt collection, it just says that if I do not pay it will impact my credit then offers a option to pay which then says i am not registered. My credit is already hurt, Them calling at least 3 times a day 8am, noon, and 4 pm, plus sometimes extra is making want to blow my head off. I cannot turn off my phone because I take care of my grandparents who are sick and mother with MS, and if anything happens or they need me I have to be available. I am not avoiding them, They know I am not paying till I receive the shutoff, so how is it legal for them to keep calling even right after I get off the phone with dte, saying as soon as the shut off comes you will be paid? it is harassment. They cannot stop the automated voice from calling? Put I paid the bill, then deduct it, change my number on the machine to disconnected, something, PLEASE HELP, I am going crazy and they do not care, One time I just kept hitting ignore and like 3 days later, I looked at it and said missed 15 times! It is the same number calling every time and metro PCS says they cannot block number and all I could do was change the ring to something less annoying. What do I do, is there not some rules or is Detroit Edison immune. I mean it's like like I have a choice where I get my electric, they are a monopolistic, anti-trust company with NO competition. I need help with them, they don't care if I complain, I am a nobody to them. Is there anything I can do? I am unemployed and looking and this is just adding to the stress 6 days a week to where I don't even want to wake up or live anymore. Charges for services never rendered
DTE has been charging us for their appliance protection insurance since 2006. We moved out of the home that they are charging for services at Jan 6, 2006, and demolished the home in Jan 2008. We called continuously and emailed them for 6 months straight for them to cancel the appliance protection. They are charging us for 6 months service at a home that we didn't even live at. We are currently in the process of building a new home at that site and they have now tacked on $143.70 for services that they never rendered.

DTE Wants Payment for Services I Did Not Use
I sold my property, paid all final bills, and cancelled all landlord automatic utility transfer agreements about 10 years ago. I got a call out of the clear blue last month, April 2009, from a collection agency, Alliance One, stating that I owed a balance for services used at a house I sold 10 years ago. I called DTE, they sent me a fraud package, I returned it, and Landlord/Tenant Customer care dismissed it saying that the landlord automatic transfer was never cancelled, and they would not remove me as the responsible party unless I showed them the letter from 10 years ago showing that I did cancel it. Despite the fact that I sold the property 10 years ago, and am a resident of Ohio who did not use any utilities from DTE in October 2008. I also sent in a title search showing I did not own that property, the suddenly claimed that it was for a balance for a DIFFERENT property...that was also sold 10 years ago. Both DTE and Alliance One have been extremely rude and will not listen to reason. I told them I have no intentions of paying a bill for utilities used by someone else, at a property I sold 10 years ago. I asked that they send me all documentation in writing showing the claim, and I have not received anything from DTE or Alliance One. The DTE landlord automatic utility transfer policy states that DTE will not charge the landlord for services used by the tenant that the tenant did not pay. AGAIN, I have no tenants, property, or accounts with DTE. Can someone help me with this? Has this happened to you? Is there someone at DTE, other than Landlord/Tenant customer care, who can help me? In 2002 I had a near fatal accident, and no longer work anymore. I cannot afford to pay for someone else's utilities...also, what's to say that another 10 years won't go back and the resurface again? I feel that what they are doing is unlawful, and should be reported to some organization. Can someone please help? I was an excellent customer and paid all final bills, and made sure all accounts were closed with DTE. I owe nothing.
