Buyer signs up for a one-time premium membership, say 24 hours for .99 Euro. Buyer's account is charged about $9 by "micropayment.ch". Additionally, there is almost nothing to warn the buyer of the automatic renewals for the premium account that will occur every 24 hours. Very fine print about this is very easy to miss. There is a cancellation option in settings, but buyer cannot cancel account when it is "premium." It will never stop being premium, because of the unstoppable automatic renewals. So it is impossible to stop the automatic payments. Site instructs buyer to write a signed request to cancel the membership to the office in Switzerland. Who knows if this actually does anything, but is worthwhile to do in case the buyer needs to send this proof to credit companies if Duckload reports the unpaid balance to credit companies after buyer halts the automatic charges or closes the card.

Furthermore, the FAQ page is coded to not work. Terms and Conditions are in German, even though "English" is selected on the page.

On the flip side, Duckload does provide the services that I used (high-speed downloading from their server). If one intends to download from their server indefinitely, then purchasing an account could make sense. I advise against it however.

Also, I am not sure what happens if one buys a plan more expensive than .99 Euro. Perhaps the overcharge is basically a week of automatic payments, so purchasing a month's worth of premium membership could possibly get you charged for a year up front. I can not verify this; it is simply a possibility and worth warning readers about.
