Dunkin' Donuts Reviews

Vanilla Chai discrepencies
I'm a regular customer of this Dunkin' Donuts and have been for years. I will no longer give this one my business. I ordered 2 Vanilla Chai's and drove home as usual, the 15 minute drive is just enough time for it to cool off to drink. Well, the last time I was there I certainly didn't have to worry about that. I had 2 half full cups of very COLD chai. It was never even heated and I'm sure they used 1 packet and split it between the two cups because it tasted like cold milk! Rip off! Is this how they are making their money by ripping off customers?

One of my major complaints also is when a chai is heated and frothed they are only to use a medium cup, well w/ all the foam you are NOT getting what you pay for...hence the whole cup full. Why not make life easy and give us what we pay for by simply putting it into a large cup? I've seen several times where they fill 1/2 way and then you see the employee drinking the rest of my chai or pouring the rest down the drain. Well hello, I paid for it..so why didn't I get it all! Unbelievable...and this happens at most all of them! Like I said...rip off! You know a simple change in policy and putting it in a large cup would be the honest thing to do! Fed up!

Trying to get money
On Jan 31, 2010, I received a Dunkin Donuts gift certificate booklet with 21 free cups of coffee. I was so happy to use it because I loved drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee. I decided to use one of my gifts certificates at the DD on 179-15 Hillside Ave. When I tried to redeem it, the employees told me that had to show them the boklet. I didn't walk with the booklet because I didn't want to lose it. I explain it to them but the said I had to buy it. I asked to speak to the manager because I didn't see anything writting on the certificate that I needed to bring the entire booklet. His excuse was that the employees were returning the certificate to the customers and the the customers were reusing it. The first thing that came to my mind was, "that was not my problem". I told him that he need to train his staff and that he should not penalized the customers for his employees ethical behavior. He got pissed off and began yelling at me. When I asked for a phone number to complain. He told me the f**k**g number is agianst the wall. I left the store and dialed the number and he picked up the phone. I was so pissed off that I could not complian to someone who would tell him that he is wrong for treating me or any other customer the way he did. I will no longer shop at DD because they do not allow there customers a chance to complain on the managers.

Worst experience ever
I always have the worst experiences at The Dunkin Donuts in hempstead. They have the worst workers that do not know anything. I order the same thing every morning. I order a toasted Cinnamon raisin bagel wtih cream chese and jelly and a small tea. Every morning they give me a plain bagel with butter and a large hot chocolate. At first i thought they were giving me someone elses order but it happens all the time. Other people say they do the same thing to them. Its like they give you what ever they feel like giving you. When you take it back u get nothing but an attitude. They try to rush u like you have just inconvienienced them. When you ask to speak to the manager they always say he will be in later. I hate that place but it is the only one around with a drive through and really the only place like it.

Awful food
Danesh, the manager of Dunkin' Donuts' hired most of the employees who come from his native land gujrat, india, he always talking with them in gujrati language that is really disturbing for the other employees and for the guest. He always favor those employees, for example: he make their schedule 8 hour a day, but on monday one of them work only 5 hour but she is paid for 8 hour. The manager and the other employees talking and laughing in front of the guest and make fun of the other employees. The manager never let one of his gujrati employee to do the side job and to make the sandwiches. So, its very hard to work with them for the employees.

Price Discrepancy
I just read a complaint about the Dunkin' Donuts in Smithfield RI and I have had the SAME EXACT EXPERIENCE at the DD on Rte 146. I order the flatbread combo for $3.99, and every single time they try to charge me $4.72! When I tell them a mistake, invariably they say "That's what the register calculates automatically." Then I get charged $4.31, although once they charged me $4.39. If RI sales tax is 7%, shouldn't it be $4.27??? I've read several complaints about DD overcharging tax online - from NJ to RI - and I wonder how many millions of dollars this company is making by gouging the consumer????

If you think about it, if they make $0.45 off of every flatbread combo they sell, and similar amounts off of other items, each location could be making hundreds of extra dollars a day, right?

Bad service
Alright, I'm only 14 years old but this is what happened once when I bought a donut at Dunkin' Donuts. I was with my best friend in DD and there was about 4 women just standing there giggling and talking in Indian and then I asked for a donut and they started talking again in Indian and said something about me and the subject went totally off; they said I looked "tiny" compared to my friend which deeply offended me. And I was just really angry after they told me that because I know I'm a little short but they don't need to tell me. Or sometimes at Dunkin' donuts when I go to buy a Hot Chocolate I ask for a medium and they give me a small and start "sighing" because I tell them I asked a medium.

Abhorrent customer service
Here is a copy of my first and last complaint to Dunkin' Donuts, the worst and final event culminating years of abuse...

I am writing to let you know that you have lost another customer. I have been purchasing products from your company for the past 15 years, spending an average of $2000/year. When made properly, your coffee and food products are the finest available, but I have endured my last disappointment. On average I would say the coffee is burnt 60% of the time I purchase it, and made with the wrong amount of cream/sugar 90% of the time, prompting me to order these items on the side and assemble the coffee myself. I can deal with these inconveniences, along with numerous communication issues with the majority of non-English speaking employees I have encountered who cannot interpret the phrase, "Large coffee with 2 creams and 1 sugar". Yesterday an incident occurred which will forever sever my relationship with my favorite coffee shop. I purchased a coffee on my way into work (I work the overnight shift as a dispatcher, from 11PM-7AM) which tasted as if it had been sitting on the burner for hours if not days - for the fourth time in a row. Normally I throw out the coffee (and another $2) and end up frustrated. This time I returned to the shop with the cup of coffee and my receipt, politely explained what had happened, that I was a daily customer, and would like to exchange this coffee this once and perhaps speak with the manager. An eastern European female told me I could not exchange the coffee unless it was the same day. I explained to her that I was at work and unable to leave until the next day, had never done anything like this but wanted to express my displeasure and would pay for the new coffee if she did not have the authority to do so. She proceeded to call me "crazy" and walked away. I suppose I would be crazy, if I were to put up with such abhorrent customer service and throw away my hard-earned money any longer. I have worked personally interacting with the public for years, from my first job at Dunkin’ Donuts through the present, and I would be quickly without employment if I ever spoke to someone in that manner - I am appalled to say the least. I may try your company again someday, perhaps when I relocate to New Hampshire, where I have generally found your company has not yet lost touch with it’s original vision and quality (i.e.- the coffee is fresh and the personnel are polite). Until then, I will not set foot in another Dunkin’ Donuts in Massachusetts, and will encourage my friends and co-workers to do the same.

Discrimination by store manager
I applied at this store and was discriminated against and not hired due to my age of fifty-one. Although I returened eleven times per the store manager's request, I wasted a total of several hours waiting to be interviewen and was later told by word of mouth that the store manager only hires young people to "see what get out of them", as older people do not go along with this. Age discrimination in this state is highly illegal as I will mention when I report to the Labor Board and recieve my interview with a local newspaper
