Firstly, I sympathise to this person as I know how you feel - http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/durban-central-panel-beater-c197533.html
I had an attempted Hi-Jacking but my car, Toyota Corolla RXI, was saved thanks to a quick response by the witnesses around. In the incident, my vehicle sustained Minor to Moderate Damage, only cosmetic damage and not mechanical. I thought repairs wouldn’t take too long. Boy was I wrong. I did not factor the DCP Service Factor. I had sent my vehicle to DCP thinking that they are the biggest and most professional outfit. LOL.
My Car took 1 Month to repair when they had quoted for a week. All that needed to be done was Rear Bumper replacement, Back Drivers Door Replace, Windscreen Replace, Drivers Door Window Replacement and Spray Job. Does it sound like the vehicle should take more than a Week???
Well...It has been FIVE MONTHS since the incident and my vehicle is still at their place.
1- They fitted a Wrong Bumper onto my car! What the hell? Don’t they have Manufacturer's Part numbers? The Bumper they used is for an Older Model Corolla which is much Wider as you will see in the Pictures. The original correct one is an inch narrower.
2- They replaced the door but reused the door moulding which had broken in the accident? WTF? THE MOULDING HAD A BIG CHUNK BROKEN? They Straightened out and resprayed and fitted it onto the door! The Back Door had taken impact, so surely they as pros could have insisted on replacing a badly bent and scratched part. And when I pickup the vehicle, the guy, John, tells me that the Insurance did not quote for it? Why did they not inform the insurance company of the broken part or at least, why did they not inform me about it. I only found out about it when I went to pick up the car after they had CLAIMED that the vehicle was completed! Completed with Broken Parts.
3- They had fitted a new Drivers side Window, now my window AUTO Function does not work. It goes all the way up but then returns half way down. This was not happening before the accident. Now they claim that the Mechanism is faulty and that it needs to be replaced! Catch a wakeup DCP...It is the Wiring, Grounding, or the Safety Settings! Not the MOTOR! This is as per a Toyota Dealership Repair Center.
4- If I were to tell you that my car is silver grey and that they sprayed my bumper White!! What would you think of them? Well something similar. My original Smash and Grab is GREEN...they replaced, just one side, with a BROWN shade. Again...WTF? Now they say its up to the insurance to pay for the correct Green one and the insurance is saying that they did not tel them to use Brown.
5- They replaced the Windscreen and reused the rubbers, now there is a corner piece that is popping out every time I drive. Cant they do a simple job like replace a windscreen properly and professionally???
It has been THREE months now and I am still hearing the Blame game on the Insurance! DCP SUCKS AND I FOR ONE WILL NEVER SEND ANY OF MY WORK TO THEM AND NIETHER WILL ANY OF THE +-50 COMPANY CARS AND OUR PRIVATE VEHICLES THAT WE OWN EVER GO TO THEM AGAIN.
If you want quality service and quality workmanship, don’t send your vehicle to DURBAN CENTRAL PANEL BEATES.
