Customer Relations
direct tv's automated pos service would not let me to talk anyone, after we'd go so far into the automated junk, they would hang up on me. after about seven round's... i finally got through to a person who then transferred to billing. by the way, since when did recipes become a thing of the past? i asked them for their fax number and proceeded to tell them that i have the recipes for the money ordered's we sent out. this woman told me that she couldn't give it to me unless i wanted to file for a dispute (which can take up to six week's.) wtf seriously? telling me that i have to go back to the place i purchased them. she said they could do a search for them. i asked the place i bought them, they said they don't keep those kind of records. then they try to tell me that i owe a bill from back in febuary 2010 and the current bill which we sent out over two week's ago. if that was the case back in 2010, why didn't they disconnect my service earlier. i really don't think they people give a damn for their customer's... we started out paying $40.00 a month, then little by little they kept on raising the bill. their service is aweful... they want to fight with you about it.

Contract...virtual?
We installed the services with direct tv and our question was is this is a contrac? The answer was NO. But, now when we want to canceled our services we have to pay $ 160.00 for cancelation of the services. How they justify this? because we lease the DVR and the DVR was with a virtual contract (I guess). This is wrong and it should be illegal...actually probably is!

Unhappy DirecTV Customer

Do not value their customers
DirecTV does not care about their customer. I have been with them for over 10yrs. My DVR went out had to get a replacement had a outstanding balance of $49.98, they could not activate until I pay. I spoke with (Kate) they do not make any arrangement she stated that they had to make their revenue. I said that don't make any sense to me I going to pay my bill it was just past due since 8/17/2009 today is 8/20/2009 it did not matter. Then I spoke to Karen (Supervise) she stated that is nothing they can do and started going over the same thing Kate said, Then I ask for a manager (Grace) the same thing. All was very nonchalant and sound like the same persons. I have learned a value lesson today that they do not value their customers. I will not RECOMMEND DIRECTV to anyone. I will be soon looking for another service .

OUT RAGED CUSTOMER!
August 4, 2009
service issue and billing
In the month of July I paid my cable company $206.34 I normally pay $225.00 a month. I was having a problem with my DVR for 20 days. They came out and fixed it on July 20, 2009, they were suppose to issue a credit for my inconvience, instead, they never issue me the credit and on August 4, 2009 they interupted my service, and then they have the nerve to tell me that I owe them $125.00 to have my service restored. Not to mention that on the 26th of this month they are going to be expecting another $225.00. I think that Time Warner Cable of NYC are a rip off!

Misleading information on agreement!
I established my service on Dec. 1st of 2007 and spoke with Cristy in the Sales department, I made it clear to her what I wanted and she made her offers. Due to my husbands credit information Cristy said we qualified for a free DVR and no installation fees. Me biggest concern was the for how long my agreement would be for and so I went on asking "is this for a year", she then replied "yes". We then jumped to the part where she explains to me the discounts I would receive for signing up that day and went as follows:
55.96 for 185 channels
with insurance on equipment
3 months free of showtime, starz, HBO and cinemax
a $50 credit for being reffered
credit on my account for using direct payments from my bank account
and my first bill would be on January 1st of 2008
Well I never received a paper bill but yet I was charged for my service the next day of activation and was signed up on a 2 year agreement with Direct TV. My charges were for 70.81 and there was no credits applied. So here I find myself stuck with a contract I don't wish to keep and in case of cancellation I was told it would be $480 for early termination.
I hate the fact that I put my trust, my bank account and my money in a person and a company who doesn't deserve to be in business. Not to mention that Cristy's commission for signing me up on a unauthorized 2 year agreement is coming out of my bank account.
