Insurance Fraud
I am a patient that had used the Dynasplint for my achilles tendon for nine months. When I first saw my doctor for my problem, he said that this thing called a Dynasplint could help. He said that he would have the rep, named Sarah, come in the next week and talk to me about it. When I went in and met the rep, my doctor and she said that it will help my problem and that she would contact my insurance company to see if I was covered. My doctor called me later in the week and told me that Sarah said my insurance would cover it 100% and she got me approved for coverage. And, that I should make an appointment to come in and get it fitted with the Dynasplint and get started with my treatment. I did. Nine months later Dynasplint wrote me a letter and said my insurance company was not paying the bills Dynasplint was sending them and if I could contact them. I did and my insurance company told me that Sarah, the Dynasplint rep, did not get approval and she did not follow the procedure to get approval. In fact, my insurance company told me that "the Dynasplint" was considered "experimental" and there was no proof that it helped anyone. And, if Sarah had filed the proper paperwork it would have been denied for that reason. They told me that she had never had contacted them at all. My insurance company told me that I needed to send in my doctors notes on my condition and they would review it and try and help. I did. Dynasplint did nothing. I did all the work and they have done nothing but try and get me to pay this bill. They asked me if I would request an appeal for my insurance company pay them. I did. My insurance company denied them again for the same reason. Dynasplint asked me if I would be willing to fill out paperwork and have the Medical Insurance Review Board review this and I did. The review board sided with my insurance company. It has been 3 1/2 years and they had a collection agency call me today. I have contacted an attorney. It seems Dynasplint has a scam going. They get patients to get a diagnosis from a doctor, sign paperwork saying they have been approved by their insurance company (when in fact they have not). And after a few months go by, they say their insurance is not paying so you have to. The catch is the patient has signed the paperwork. Dynasplint is a company that also scams it's patients and is committing insurance fraud. My mom just passed away and I have better things to do with my life.

If you are a patient and the Dynasplint reps comes to your home to give you a splint DO NOT SIGN ANY FORMS. I'm a lawyer and needed a splint that of course my insurance wouldn't cover and the rep wanted me to sign this form. Legally it binds you financially responsible for all costs assocaited with the Dynasplint. A good company would write off what was not collected, medical companies do it all of the time. Don't be scammed into signing this form. I have posted the verbiage so you don't get taken for a ride. Here's the wording:

I understand that the insurance benefit plan under which I have health coverage will only pay for the use of the Dynasplint® System that has been prescribed for me by my physician for a period of up to four (4) months.
Furthermore, I acknowledge that it has been explained to me by Dynasplint Systems, Inc. (DSI) that I may require the use of the Dynasplint® System longer than four (4) months. Therefore I, _________________________, agree to accept financial responsibility for the use of the Dynasplint® System that I have received today for anyperiod of time for which my insurance will not cover its use under the following terms and conditions:
I agree to rent the Dynasplint® System with serial number ___________________ for $__________ per month for any period of time that I utilize the Dynasplint® System for which my insurance will not authorize or pay for its use. For every month or portion thereof until I return the Dynasplint® System to DSI a claim will be submitted to my insurance. If the claim is denied as it is expected to be, I will be billed for the charge that is
not covered. I understand that all billing will occur in accordance with the terms of the contract between DSI and my insurance, if one exists, or in accordance with DSI’s standard practices.
My signature represents understanding and agreement with all terms stated herein.

Don't be taken for a rocky financial ride. My ortho will be getting as copy of this and I believe will cease his ordering of this product.

I want to mention the dynasplint is totally a piece of crap. This is an insurance scam and should be investigated thoroughly. As well as The woman in the billing dept that calls herself a patient account rep. I would never refer this device to anyone and have told my surgeon about my experience in dealing with this company. You can rest assure I am spreading the word in Fort Worth Texas about this disastrous product and the company that stands behind it.

Customer Service
The only thing I would say about Dynasplint is their customer support or lack there of. It is possible it may be just one person but I have been fighting a billing issue since 2007. I have called our "rep", sent emails, write letters. Even wrote notes on the bills which I assume would go back to the billing deparment but yet not one call, not one letter or response to my request over and over again to get a billing issue resolved.

Found out today that a manager had the info that I was disputing but yet NEVER made any attempt to contact me in any way to help resolve it.

Learned today the local rep was not honest with me.

It is clear on several levels there are serious customer service / management issues.
