Awful experience
Young woman went door-to-door in our Freeport, Illinois subdivision. Claimed to have recently moved in to the neighborhood. Said her name was Penny and her parents were Mike and ?. Said she was a student raising money to study in England. Asked us to buy a block of children's' magazines which would be sent to one or another children's' hospital. $55/block. Wanted us to buy two blocks for $110. We did not tumble but several of our neighbors did. We called the police. They caught up with her and unraveled her lies but did not arrest her because they found that Dynasty Sales really exists.
We argued 'theft by deception' but didn't get the police to buy it. So she is gone on to work their scam on others.

Misrepresentation of product
A young woman came to our door late in the summer stating that she was a neighbor from down the block and selling books before going off to college. With small children, we don't know all the older kids, but we also knew the house on the corner has college students. Trusting this individual, and always willing to spend a buck on books for our kids, my husband purchased $95 worth of books. They were supposed to be educational and include books and cd's. The books arrived this week and they are two search and find books worth no more than $10 apiece. What a scam.

paid money for cd's never received
On 5/23/08 a young man by the name of David Samson came to my door selling books, tapes, and cd's to help raise money for him to go on a senior trip. He presented a brochure from which people could order a variety of books, magazines, cd's, etc.
I did indeed purchase item #746 which was a set of Sing Along Songs that contained 4 cd's. I wrote him a check in the amount of $71.00 Ck. No. 3867. I have a written receipt and to date have never received any merchandise.
Please advise whether there will ever be any merchandise coming.

Scam
A young man came to my door misrepresenting himself as a an acquaintance of my neighbor "Steve". In fact, he had come from Steve's home where he had conned the kids into giving out their dad's name and other info which he used to make it sound like he knew him.
His scam was that if I bought magazine subscriptions, they would send them to the active military in addition to helping him earn points for school. He was quick witted and humorous.
I was unable to open this website that was listed on the receipt but, I WAS able to stop payment online...I hope he reads this 'cause I got the last laugh!!

Scam and abuse!
Cannot select State from this web-page. 2 young men claiming to be veterans sold us 2 magazine subscriptions that they claimed would go to our servicemen overseas. I paid by check and within a hour of when this happened, checked the internet and found this site and notified our bank to stop the payment of said check. Payee was Dynasty Sales and the young men were earning points to attend a firefighters class. Can you say "SCAM"?

Scam and fraud!
Similar story to all others. These young men claimed to be ASU theater students earning money for a trip to London leaving Jan 27. Selling books to be given to patients at Phoenix Children's Hospital. A good line. I checked the company while I was writing the check but it did not come up until I came back in the house. I then went to the 'new neighbor's' house that they said the lived at and of course they did not know them. I drove around to find them and then went directly to my bank to stop payment on the check. The Maricopa County Sheriff's department was called but they never showed up.
I then drove the local neighborhoods and found them... called the police again but it appears the urgency of small time scam artists was not of interest. I followed them at a distance and called the Sheriff again to no avail over a 65 minute time frame. Then I called my husband to join me in another vehicle and we at least got a vehicle description. Although it apparently does little good if you can't get the local police to do anything.
They eventually walked to a corner and called from a cell phone. Almost immediately a newish white E350 Ford Van with smoked windows and a Hispanic female driver appeared with a North Carolina license WXW7417 and they were off. My husband followed them for a time but lacking law enforcement we gave it up.
I do feel stupid and will never give money again at the front door of my home. At least one other neighbor was scammed in this. Beware!
