failed to disconnect service after moving
I requested a disconnection of service because I moved made to Dynowatt aprox Sept 27, 2010. The company asked that I allow them to record the request, which I did, and was I given a confirmation number for the disconnection. On Oct 4, 2010, they sent me a warning letter, the one that says your electricity will be shut off if you dont pay your bill. Well, per Dynowatt, they take your last bill from your deposit, and then send you a statement for money owed or money refunded. I tried to contact them and the electronic opperator kept stating all lines were buisy so try back later- and then it hung up on me. So I waited a few weeks to call back, but before I did, I went to my old house. The power on the door bell is still on, and the house is vacant! I finally was able to speak with someone, and they confirmed the power was still on, confirmed that I had put in the request for the disconnect, but said the request was denied! How can a request for disconnect because of monving be denied? They said I would have to put in another request. I filed a complaint with the Texas PUC and then called Dynowatt back to do a second request. Well I was able to get both confirmation numbers from the opperator. I feel Dynowatt is trying to use up my deposit by failing to turn off service. They are trying to charge me for service I didn not order, and do not want to pay for. Make sure to check the Texas PUC website for provider complaints before you make a choice on electric companies!
