excessive price increase
Electricty rate more than doubled in a period of four months, resulting in a 24/kwh bill. This was more than excessive and needs to be reported and stopped. Was at 11.3/kwh. Called company as rate increased and eventually changed providers all together. Dynowatt never sent me a final bill and is claiming charges that are unsupportable. They have not sent me a statement of such charges. They did send me to collections without any notice. There is no one in customer service to answer questions about this. I was a good customer for 3 years, never had late payments. Their business practice is unethical and bad customer service.

Price gouging and no cust. service
Dynowatt charged me .25 in kwt when every other rate was around .16 at that time. They did this because I left them and went to a cheaper plan. My final bill was almost 700.00 when it should have been around 400.00. To add injury to insult, they just sent me to a third party collection agency because I have disputed the bill and contacted the PUC of texas. I was told I could pay off the false debt in a payment plan, and was waiting for the correspondence to do that, and they sent me to a collection agency and when I called them to find out what happened, and why this was done, they refused to talk about it with me, refused to get me to a supervisor, and refused to get me a name of someone in billing disputes to discuss it. They basically just do what they want because they feel they can. They no noone is going to hold them accountable. Horrible company!!!

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
CALL TO CUSTOMER SERVICE JUNE 08 ABOUT HIGH ELEC BILL WHEN NOBODY HOME. CALLED AUGUST 08...NOBODY HAS RESPONDED YET...THEY SAY...PLEASE CALL BACK.

Anybody have a Tim contacting them?
I got an email from a Tim and he emailed me from this website. Just wonder if ole Tim is on Dynowatt's payroll as he called us all idiots because we were complaining about these outrageous rates. Sounds like to me that Tim may be getting a kick back by going in on these forums and defending Dynowatt. He sure hasn't gotten one of these outrageous bills as he would be on here making complaints himself so we can assume he hasn't been ripped by them since he is defending these scammers. I tried to find him on here but no such name. Not only is he a coward as he can contact us and we can't contact him but he is probably also a Dynowatt employee. That's the only explanation I can give for why some idiot would defend them...

fixed rate plan reductions
Did anyone else sign up for there 24 month fixed rate after the rates went up to 25 cents per KWH. I did. What a mistake. They specifically told me on the phone that if the rates for that plan go down I could call to get my rates lowered. Well they have now gone from 16.8 down to 14.6 cent per KWH. I called and tried to lower my rates. The manager now told me it has to be after 90 days and I can only do it once. No where in my contract does it specify this. He then went on to tell me that they didn't offer this when I signed up. So why did their customer representative LIE to me. Their customer service and honesty is very lacking. I want out of my contract. Anyone know any tricks on getting out without penalty? I would also be interested in a class action law suit.

fraud, electric rates, breach of contract
raised rates in excess of .25/kwh even though contract called for price to be 10% less than" price to beat..."... which was 12.3/kwh.. when called, they stated that the price to beat was no longer published and they could charge whatever the spot market was. i told them that if new "price to beat"was not issued, they had to abide by the last one published...no notice, no response..., i asked if they were going to furnish the KY jelley. they said their phone was ringing off the hook with calls like mine... they have been sleeping with Jesse James.. it took me approx 1 hr to switch... i hope dynowatt goes out of business... if lawsuit is filed, include me

Misleading in rate quote
Dynowatt increased my electrical rate from .14 to .25/kwh in one month without notice. In their Contract Agreement, there is a clause which states that their rate will be a least 10% below the "rate to beat" in our area. The rate to beat last month was 18 cents/kwh. Avoil this company because they are at this time the most expensive electrical company in Texas. I called them and asked them about the commitment to the price to beat and I was told that they cancel that commitment on December 31, 2006. You can t go to their contract agreement on their web site and as of today it still states that their price will be below the "price to beat".

Contact the BBB
I originally filed this under Dynowatt/Accent Energy and it didn't get put under Dynowatt so I am refiling it just under Dynowatt so hopefully it doesn't get missed.
File a complaint with the BBB in Ohio. I just did and there are numerous complaints against Accent Energy for these sudden rate hikes in Texas. Its shows that some of these billing issues have been resolved so maybe the BBB is doing something about it where as it does not appear that the PUC of Texas or the Attorney General's Office is doing anything. It also seems that the BBB is awaiting some news from the goverment over this issue. So file your complaint NOW!

Dynowatt fraud and rip off
I am having a billing problem with Dynowatt. My bill last month was $585 dollars. The bill I jut got today is $646 dollars. I'm a single mom so this hurts a lot. I have two more weeks until my switch to another provider takes effect and am stuck paying these high bills that I can't afford until it takes effect (or not pay and have it reported on my credit). I was a customer for a year with my variable rates always low at around .12 or .13 and low bills, never late, always paid on time. The last two months my rate jumped to .22 and .24. Dynowatt refused to give the really low fixed rate they offer new customers when I called to complain (they were really rude too). They are not honoring their promise to always beat Reliant's rates which is what they promised me when I switched. So I'm leaving and I will never go back to those crooks. I got no warning that my rate would over double and this should be illegal if it's not! I filed a complaint with the PUC, wrote the governor and news media.
