E-Harmony Reviews

False Matching
I read on Complaints Board about e-Harmoney continuing to match prospects after their subscriptions had expired. Well, I just found out from a friend that they matched me with her even though I am NOT YET a subscriber. In short, e-Harmony took my incomplete profile (including pictures that I did not realize would be shared) and forwarded them to at least 300 people without my permission and without regard to the fact that I am NOT YET subscribed to the service!!! I consider this not only a disservice to me, but to the poor saps who have been led to believe that I am an actual, live subscriber ready to interact with them. Shame on you, e-Harmony!!! I will be removing my profile and pics from your website in a moment. I am not interested in being pimped out!

Fraud
I think E-harmony is a great big rip off !
I would like to know how to get in touch with this company ? If anyone knows please inform me.
I thought that a pay dating site would be the way to go but I now I know it's not. I much prefer Plentyoffish which is a free site. There needs to be a class action suit brought against them !

Scam
I Joined e-harmony twice, both times I was matched up with people out of the distance I requested. Also a large age difference. The main complaint is not being able to contact anyone at e-harmony to warn them of a man who was trying to scam money from me saying he was stranded in the UK and needed me to send him 2, 500 because he lost his wallet with important papers in them. This man and I only e-mailed each never met or talked on the telephone. Felt I needed to report this but could not find a way to reach anyone at e-harmony.

Beware
Beware of E-harmony! My debit card number was stolen and the thief used it to open an account with E-harmony. My bank immediately closed the card and told me to just contact E-harmony and tell them that the card number was used illegally and to close the account and refund the money back into the account. The thief had bought services from a couple of other companies and they were very helpful in doing this. In the first place, it took me forever to even find a phone number for E-harmony. The only way I could find it was from a blog of another unhappy customer. When I was finally able to reach their customer service, they told me that there was no way they would cancel the account even though it was used with a stolen card number. When I asked for the name and email address of the person that opened the account with my card, they told me they could not give me that information because they had to protect the identity of the thief!!! What about my rights? I am out $134.99 while someone is enjoying their E-harmony services and is also being protected by them. I am a grandmother trying to put kids through college. E-harmony was absolutely NO help at all - in fact they sided with the thief - they got their money - that's all they cared about. Didn't care where the money came from. BEWARE!!!

Scammers
I became a member of E-harmony recently. my matches were coming through. This woman called herself diana Lucas from (Greensboro NC)... She emailed me back and forth and told me she was living in Lagos, Nigeria and wanted to find the man of her dreams. We sent several emails back and forth, then she was asking for money. A red flag was raised. I got concerned and went on the web to search her story. After a day of research I came to a web site called Stopscammers.com the very first page that i looked at had her picture on it. I was not surprised. She is out there, so men beware she is a very cold fish and will take all from you.

Dating scam!
When I was a member of E-harmony more than 95% of the men they matched me up with lived at least 1000 miles away from me and the few who lived less than 200 miles away (whom I could count on one hand) closed me out. I live in Boston. E-harmony's matching program couldn't find ANY men in my heavily-populated area with whom to match me? Somethings fishy since as soon as I let my membership expire, E-harmony then magically was suddenly able to find me matches in the Boston area, often sending me one or more a week as "bait" to get me to sign up again. It makes me question their ethics.

Also, I signed up specifying no automatic renewal. They put me in for automatic renewal. I spent hours figuring out how to change it on the computer and e-mailing them to confirm that they had done it. Yet when my membership expired they **still** automatically renewed me! Luckily I had used a specially-generated credit card number that has a dollar-cap and the renewal bounced. Then they e-mailed me asking me to give them a new credit card number since they couldn't automatically renew me and wanted to. Slimey and unethical. Avoid this company. They rip people off and I feel bad for people who are signing up in good faith. I think of what they will have to deal with. It is sad to be scammed.
