Eagle Van Lines Reviews

Frustrated Teacher February 16, 2011
service reliability, responsibility
A few family heirlooms were to be shipped from my father's wife's home (after Dad was placed in a nursing home) in Arkansas to my home in Los Angeles. Since there was no hurry, I searched for a company able and willing to help with a small move and ensure crating of twin rounded glass corner display cabinets. I paid for crating but, five months later when the pick-up was made at 6:00 on a November evening, I was hustled into signing reams of paper (without reading, my error) while now dwindled 'load' (half the originally intended items at the full cost) was wrapped in cardboard and bubble-wrap, blanketed and taken to the awaiting truck. A week later, demanding cash before removal from the truck, the two cabinets and antique dresser arrived, trashed. The glass on one cabinet was broken, the dresser (which I accepted had lose backing upon pick-up) was in pieces, literally. There has been no attempt to replace, apologize or repair my heirloom belongings. I was told to place a claim for $ 0.60/per pound with a third company, who refused the claim because I was unable to get three estimates and had initiated a stop pay on one partial credit card payment. Eagle owner Lior Tur-Iman promised my husband $100.00, but failed to send a check and is demanding full payment. Thankfully, I was able to replace the glass, which cost $355.00 and took 2 months. The dresser is with a restorer now, no estimate in sight for the broken drawers, slats and back. So sad. Wouldn't use these guys again on a bet.

Bad service
After much searching, I contracted with Eagle Van Lines at their leisure to pick up and crate two rounded-glass, mirrored corner cabinets and a dresser, and ship them to California. I was charged almost $1100. for the privilege, but the cabinets were not crated and arrived with both the glass and mirrors broken. Unfortunately, no one ever specifically said anything about insurance yet I was told by the pick-up crew that 'we only insure items by the pound unless you have a purchase receipt.' I had refused to sign the insurance section of their numerous contracts while they wrapped the cabinets in bubble wrap, tape, cardboard and, finally, blankets. I told them the family importance, was assured it everything would be okay. I told the company from the beginning, as evidenced from numerous emails, that the safety of the items was of the greatest importance. Now, I have a $355. repair bill, scratched mirrors and no recourse. I don't move furniture across the country. They do. And Eagle Van Lines really let me down.
