CIVIL RIGHTS RENTAL AGREEMENT
To whom it may concern

Good Morning,

To whoever is reading this after my phone conversation with the
manager on the phone on Saturday, November, 13, 2010. Before speakingand going into further conversation with the manager, he had asked atthe beginning of the phone call for " Mrs. ****" and then "Mr.****", both are neither on the contract/agreement, however he had been calling at the time to discuss further with my parents whom have no need to be involved as per contract/ agreement rules and regulations. The name of Miss ***** ****** is documented on the agreement. I wanted to clear some information, as per when I had
originally signed the contract it was understood that if that in the
future any of the contacts do need to be contact regarding finding a
client no information regarding the agreement is to be discussed with
the contacts of the clients. When further speaking with my family whom I have no contact with on a daily basis, they informed that a man had called from Easy home and explained the whole situation regarding the police and fraudulent situation, then threat was given to them (they are not even on the contact). At this point words were then exchanged, I as a customer could not keep my cool in the situation because I had a manager of an establishment talking to me like we were friends having a dispute, in which I did not find appropriate. The was no polite and professionalism taking into hand nor was there any sympathy from the beginning. I do understand that you are looking for me, I have not had a steady home in two months. However in all this time I have never once lost any contact or disappeared completely. I also understand that I have not made a payment to an agreement in a bit of time. But the way in which the manager at the store has dealt with the matter and treated me as a citizen has not been right at all and when I do complete and finalize and negotiate and agreement regarding the furniture, I will definitely go further to see that my rights, as a human being that were broken will be justified. I am an honest upholding citizen and in the next weeks to come there will be prove of that. A letter was sent to my parents house dated November 10, 2010 stating that from the date of this letter I have 7 days legally to either pay the fee or go to legal proceedings. I do still have both copies of the letter available for reference. With all mentioned above at this time I am proposing that today November, 15, 2010 I come into to store 510 and discuss today. The reason as to why I do want to come into the store because I was threatened by the manager that I do not have any legal representation and he stated to me that I am a liar,
and a theft which I will pay for, which I do not find respectful
coming from a manager in his position, with his responsibilities. I was
able to ask a counsel ( legal advice) to come to the store with me
today again for advice on how to handle the situation. I do have
until Wednesday, November, 17, 2010 to make a decision regarding this agreement as per the letter that was sent via mail, signed and dated by the manager Curtis Montiaque Easyhome, 510 Yorkgate Mall 1

********* To further explain my complaint there was a fire at my building and I have no house to live in or pick up any of my stuff and easy home was the worse when going through this to the point until there they called me a liar regarding the fire in my buidling and a liar saying I could not get into the building which at this time it is still locked off to the public. As a normal citizen I will pay my dues, considering right now I have been given help from different individuals in my life, however I was treated respectful as a client nor as a citizen and that is my complaint. Just because the position that this manager is in he decided to manipulate as well as threaten me numerous times, as well as others whom are not involved in the contract.

payments
I have a complaint about the easyhome store in Glace Bay about my payments... One minute they tell me my account is yup to date then they go and leave harrassing and snotty messages on my answering machine telling me it unacceptable for my payment to be late i had no dammmm idea it was late no friggen wonder no one wants to do business there... Imagine if my payment is not there by 8 pm tomorrow night they will see me in court well then lets go to court because I ahve everyone of my receipts just because you don't like somebody doesn't mean you can try and rip them off because you people are shirt in cash frigg you... I guess I'll see you in court...

Customer service
Easyhome is an okay company... it's the staffing at one location is specific that is way out of line... This individual breaks privacy laws by calling under "Private name, Private number" which is illegal for a company not to identify themselves when they are calling. My wife and i had fallen under hard times so we contacted EasyFinancial, a sister-company to easyhome... well, when the individual at easyhome found this out (and i don't know how she could due to privacy laws) she left a message on our phone saying "you have the nerve to go into see Easyfinancial, but you can't even make a payment?" my response is ... well genius, if i could get the money to make the payment, i would... hence the reason i'm going to easyfinancial first. The customer service in the other locations that i've visited have been stellar... but this one in particular, with this one staff member (which i WILL NOT name, because i understand the right to privacy) knows who SHE is, and she really needs to check herself because of you don't know how to talk to customers, then don't work there.

EasyHome Scam
Well less than a year ago, I leased to own some funiture from easy home. And experienced the following - they damaged my landlords hardwood floors, the bedroom set was peeling and the sales people never gave me a consistent answer as to how much each product was. I was told, I could return the items anytime - when I did, my other items were jacked up in price. I was also told, when you return the item - the money could be transered to any other item of the same or less value - which is bull! I leased a very used and very old rearprojection tv - which I had intention to pay off in cash...I was told that my mattresses were only on lease for 1year and could not be returned due to hygenic reasons (which makes sense) when it came down to me wanting to pay them off mmediately - I was told it was over $2000dollars!!! She couldnt even tell me how much and this was after paying for the items for 7months!!! so basically I was almost done paying for mattress!!! I was so angry... that I said take back everything!!! I was expecting for the regional manager to call me back as I had filed a complain - never did!!! I am also angry because a few months ago, when I wanted to return the tv - the sales person said Keep it, you are basically getting it for FREE... talk about misleading.

Please share you stories.. lets warn people not to use the store... these people are shady!

Lease a TV through them. They call non stop if the payment is late, even if the payment is not late they still call to "remind" me to make payment a few days in advance. Staff are very rude and now they are not only harrassing myself but now are calling references telling them the situation when it is has nothing to do with them. I have tried to make payment arrangements but they have not accepted them. They threaten to come and pick up the TV. They are lying to the references, making it seem as if we are the bad guys. Not a fun time, especially around this time of year. I wish I never dealt with this company in the first place.

threatening
I rented a home theatre and tv from them and when i went out of town my house was broken into and stuff was tooken and then i had a death in the family so i was gone for a long time. well they kept calling all my references and my phone threatening they were going to file theft charges against me. after i done told them the stuff was stolen several times. they are very rude people they even got my doctor number and started to call them with the stuff making me sound bad when its not even my fault

repairing complaint
Last September my washer broke down..I had only 5 months left of owning my washer and dryer. I pay the extra $2.99 insurance every week to have my merchandise fixed due to I already have an owed fridge. It is now February and my washer is still not fixed. I have received every excuse in the book and have even paid and own my laundry set now! I have been late in the past to have their employees harrass me and ignore my needs! Why would it take 6 months + to fix a barring in a washer? I also have a stove almos paid off, but they do not seem to value their customers! Next time I will be going to another store! I have had enough of the inconsideration! Thank you for not caring!

Attitude
I have an account with them my acct in arrears sure. I will get it caught up. This company breaks the privacy laws. They call references and tell them that you owe and want their stuff back when according to the privacy act all they can do is leave a message for a return call.
I am going to pursue legal action if they do not stop this soon.

Monopoly
Easyhome came into our home, damaged our carpets by not having carpet rolls.

Easyhome is now coming to take our furniture back that we have already paid double of what its worth and still owe on it.

If we keep the couch bed and a freebie kitchen table at the end of paying it off, I would have paid 7000.00 for a 1200 dollar couch and a 400 dollar bed with a 300 dollar kitchen table which we received with burn holes all in the kitchen table, I own no animals, I shower twice a day and am a very clean neat person, the couch smells like a bum been sleeping on it for months with the scent of dog urine.

I truly do not understand how they are allowed to monopolize the middle to lower class people.

This makes me sick.

What may be done about this?
