BEDBUGS
I made the mistake of dealing with these guys. They not only misrepresent thier services and surcharges, they are rude, unprofessional and very difficult to deal with on all levels!!! I purchased a new box spring and mattress from a vancouver store in May. It was wrapped in plastic when it arrived and was when set up a box spring cover (drape) was placed on it. We have just discovered that the box spring is INFESTED with bed bugs!!!
Easy home claims that since it was wrapped in plastic when delivered they are not responsible, and the 20$ a month insurance that I pay apparently is useless! now I have a bed that I still have to pay 200 a month on for another 1.5 years that I cant, wont sleep in! and a bill for 500 to have my home debugged. Our Christmas is ruined!
The leading Bedbug experts here in Vancouver have done an investigation and are positive that the box spring is the source of the infestation. they state that despite being in plastic that the beds are vunerable to bugs because these companies like easy homes and sleep country transport used furniture in the same trucks as the new stuff. A micro size hole in the plastic is all it takes for a free riding bedbug to get into a brand new mattress!
So if you are having a bed delivered INSIST that the company enclose the bed (all PArtS) in a special bedbug proof bag!!!
At least sleep country is accountable, EASYHOMES WILL JUST SCREW YOU AND SUE YOU!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM! BE SMARTER THAN I WAS!!!

Lack of communication & extremely rude behavior
I made a purchase through these guys. They failed to mention the only way for me to make my payments was by money order shipped through the greyhound or by mail. So I was signed to a contract now I had no choice but to send the payments the way they wanted or I would be out that much more money. I did ask in writing if I could make the payments with my credit card I never received a response. So of course the payments were late consistantly due to the length of time for it to arrive at their store.
After a few months of this going on they tell me I have to send it through Greyhound. I informed Matt or whatever his name was that I'm not going to pay an additional $20 per payment when I can pay .50 for a stamp. I felt because this was how they wanted it to be done and were giving me no other alternatives so I would continue to mail it.
They finally decided to let me know to send it COD. That I could have been doing that all along.
I was called away to another province and was expecting to be there for a couple of months. I informed them of where I was and gave my contact information. I kept the furniture at my home as I was told I could not remove it or I would be charged with theft. So I started making my payments in the province I was in BY CREDIT CARD over the phone.
In the meantime they are leaving yellow sticky notes plastered all over my door. With comments on them stating *We know you're in there* *You can't hide*, etc... plus they're phoning almost 15 times a day. My answering machine was full daily just from these guys. I was out of town which they knew!! My son looking after my house gathered them up and kept the nice little pile of about 30 of these things on my table for me to see when I got home.
When I spoke with them about these notes and calls of course they denied it then came up with some story I apparently told them about my vehicle breaking down and that I was stranded somewhere. My vehicle which they recognized and walked past numerous times to leave sticky notes was parked in my driveway while I was out of town. Plus they had the phone numbers to where I was staying as well as my cell phone number.
Anyway I leave town again. This time I asked to transfer my account to where I was going to be to save the hassle. They told me no problem. So I ask can I bring the furniture here now. The girl tells me she needs to ask her manager but never gets back to me. I find out a couple of weeks later when my payment is due they never did transfer that account like they had informed me they did. So I guess that's why the girl never got back to me about moving the furniture.
So today I'm still sitting here in Alberta. I go out for a bit this morning only to come home to my 16yr old son telling me he received a call from the store in Regina. When he told them I wasn't in the girl on the phone asked him if he rehearsed that before he answered the phone made a few other rude remarks then hung up on him.
That was the last straw. I called their 1.866.823.3279 number. Spoke to a person told him everything that has been going on. He told me he would have their district manager call me. That was fine she calls me, she's just as bad if not worse. She refused to even listen. When I tried to speak or say a word she spoke over me. Then she pipes up with *then buy it out today and then we'll be done with you*. I think she forgot there is a reason people are making payments and not *buying out*. But sadly that is how they resolve anything.
