Unable to Contact anyone
I bid on a vehicle and was the highest bidder without reaching its reserve. After the auction as I thought closed, I was contacted by the seller of this item directly to my email address which I did not provide but as he contacted me after my bid offer and using what looked like standard ebay header mails, i assumed that it was legitimate. I had already made checks into the vehicle status etc which appeared to be again legitimate. The emails I received appeared the same as many more I'd received for previous transactions through ebay. Furthermore the seller said he was doing the transaction through the safeharbor facility on ebay. Safeharbor is their so called security and trust section. All of the transaction emails were on what looked like standard ebay header and following satisfactory answers being received through this mechanism, I proceeded with the purchase at a cost of £ 8000. I'm now told by ebays online help that this item was blocked from sale as a result of suspected fraud and that I should have received an email at 'my messages' folder on ebay saying this as I had bid for the item. This did not happen and furthermore I did not give the seller my email address so I can only conclude that despite ebay assurances regarding the safety of their site, it is not a secure site. I am now fraudulently down £ 8000 due to ebay neglect and have been unable to make a complaint so far through the online facility. Online is the only option available as no telephone contact is permitted. I would appreciate any help that's out there

eBay company fraud
eBay charges seller fees when an item is listed. However they do not list the item for the entire time purchased. For example: I listed a 5 day auction and the listing was not available for view by buyers for over 10 hours. Now, I paid $3.65 for the 5 day listing which calculates out to 3 cents/hour. This means I was defrauded 30 cents. Doesn't seem like a lot but magnified over the many thousands of sellers it's no wonder eBay is a multi-billion dollar industry simply for providing computer servers and software to manage auctions. No other company has made this volumn of profit in the time the company has existed. They over charge for seller fees and do not display seller items for the length of time purchased. This has happened with each of the several auctions I have posted.

Cut off the selling on Ebay
Ebay should prohibit the selling of gift cards regardless of how they are obtained. I work at a retail company and know that when customers return items without a receipt they get a store credit. But with our company, we use plastic cards that don't say store credit but they say gift card. We have dishonest customers who steal for a living just to return items and get store credit to sell on Ebay. I know that its probably a long shot just to get Ebay to understand this, but I thought I would try. Its hard enough having to return this merchandise and face these customers knowing full well what they are doing but not being able to do anything about it. It might help, maybe just a little, to cut off the selling on Ebay.

Letting someone use my site
I went to pay my sellers fees and i looked and the amount was 956.32 instead of 27.08 i nearly flipped i looked on my invoice and someone had hacked into it and was selling there items on under my screename. Motorcycles and high end cars. I went on live help and they told me that they would take all of it off and i didn't have to pay that amount. (Id like to see them try and get that amt out of me) so i paid my normal 27.08 but the listings are still active ebay is sooo screwed up i have already closed my account. They don't police whats going on on there own website. I think the people behind Ebay are scammers themselves.

Crazy account suspension rules
I just got an email from eBay suspension telling me that they were concerned about their integrity and so on. I am not an often user of eBay so I would understand a suspension for too little usage. But for being a threat or having them concerned about me possibly harming the integrity of the community ? What information are they using ? It is completely crazy and bitter.

Here is a transcript of their mail. Are we enough in number to act in block and complain together ?

Transcript:

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety and integrity of the eBay community.

"Abusing eBay" of the eBay User Agreement states, in part:

"...we may limit, suspend, or terminate our service and user accounts, prohibit access to our website, remove hosted content, and take technical and legal steps to keep users off the Site if we think that they are creating problems, possible legal liabilities, or acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies."

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account.

Please note that any seller fees due to eBay will immediately become due and payable. eBay will charge any amounts you have not previously disputed to the billing method currently on file.

No protection for Buyers!
Last month I did a online transaction(bidding) for an item(mobile,
Ebay Item no: 320096814885) on a site called www.ebay.in. I won the bid and
was supposed to pay Rs.16799/- for the item to the
seller([email protected]).

I promptly dropped the cheque for the required amount in next couple of days.

The seller once he got the money into his account, has refused to send me the
item inspite of my repeated mails and efforts to convince him.
With no other alternative left i desperately tried to contact the Ebay officials.

Every time i wrote to them i got a emphatic mail saying that there are a set of rules and that they can only escalate the claim...only after stipulated time... and above all they didn't even verify the seller details and werent able to trace him at all... and then they talk of rules and procedures.

Their customer support and security practices are so pathetic that they don't even have a proper mechanism to verify the seller details. On top they claim that they cannot reveal the details fo the seller to the buyer!!! The buyer has to bear the brunt of all these shabby stuff.

The guy who cheated me must be enjoying all this... it's really shame that Ebay encourages ppl to CHEAT...

Please never buy anything at EBAY!!!

Trying to charge me for merchandise that didn't sell
I had auctions up for several auction of high priced merchandise like laptops and ipods. After the auctions were complete I collected the money from the winning bidders and then when I went to order the merchandise from the new supplier I started dealing with I found out that my supplier was a scam artist and didn't really have any merchandise. So I refunded all my customers there money and requested Final Value Fee credits from ebay because I didn't actually complete the sales with the customers. At the end of the month Ebay sent me an e-mail stating that I requested to many final value credits and that they are reversing every single one I requested from that time period. I told them I had proof from my Paypal payments that I refunded the customers and that is why I requested Ebay and they told me that they don't look into investigating matters like this. So they said they had the final word and that was it. So now I owe over $400 in fees on transactions that I never completed. Ebay allows for final value credits for situations like this but they felt that I requested to many so they reversed all of them instead of talking to me and trying to find out the whole situation. They just want money they aren't due and that isn't fair.

Ebay protects the guilty!
Shame On ebay!! Yes, they booted selenaqperezfan but now they are playin g censor they claim ebay is a safe place to trade! HA, they allow Buyers to be cheated and scammed and if anyone tries to warn other buyers they remove the warnings.. I posted a blog and a warning on my page I checked with the rules and saw nothing that would keep me from doing so.. I did not mention names or contact info and told my story yet ebay removed bot h pages with no reason why at all.. Ebay knows I'm well off so they removed my second attempt with yet another warning yet they have booted people off their site for a second offense.. that proves they only care about the almighty dollar..Well I have news for ebay I am history and so is my money.. I will do my shopping after I have finished my move and if I can't find what I'm looking for where I'll be moving to then I can do without it..

Please be careful when shopping on ebay also there is a new auction site visit http://www.traderbait.com maybe if ebay starts to lose buyers they will change their policies..remember without the buyers there are no sellers and no sellers no ebay!!

Lousy software
There are so many obvious and repeated scams on Ebay. I have never been suckered, but they do waste a lot of bidders time, and do find an occasional sucker I suppose. Most of the scams are so
dumb that even a half-ass program could detect and eliminated them. So, that brings up the question; why doesn't Ebay flush these scams before they are posted? I think the reason is, they don't care. The scammers are Ebay customers. Ebay, by not eliminating them, are actually in cahoots with them. Ebay shares in the stolen money these crooks take from the gullible. I wonder if there is any one at Ebay that feels the tiniest bit of shame... I doubt it.

Never buy anything from anyone that knows more about you than you do about them, and never take their word for it. Check and recheck and place no value in Ebay testimonies that can be faked and altered.

Onward ever...
