Misrepresented Item
I purchased a wedding dress from princessformals09 on eBay. The dress is described as "WHITE" but when I received the dress it is IVORY with the tag attached to the dress stating 'IVORY." I opened a case with eBay with a claim that I did not receive an item as described. eBay favored the seller. I appealed their decision and they still favored the seller. Apparently, eBay does not feel the color of the dress is important but to a bride the color is paramount! To me as a bride looking for a wedding dress, the colors White and Ivory are as different as Black and White. I no longer trust eBay as Buyers are not protected from sellers that misrepresent their items.

Short dispute period
eBay is fine most of the time, but their Paypal dispute period is ridiculously short. For example, I once ordered an item from Australia, which I knew would take many weeks.Usually, the disputable period of time expires before the item has sufficient time to reach its destination (worldwide shippers). It's a gamble, you either wait and see if you'll get your item, or file a dispute right before the disputable expiry date comes. Disputing with ebay/paypal every time before the expire date is reached isn't exactly a good thing. But we're forced to when we don't want to take a chance.
ebay needs to increase their disputable time length.

I got Scammed!!!
I got scammed 3 days ago and this person from Singapore is now unregistered on Ebay. She sold a ps3 for $78. I just want a refund and want to talk to a representative. Ebay emailed me the first one saying, "We're writing to let you know that this listing for an item you won or bid on is no longer available:
260694345958 - sony 120GB playstation ps3 system console
We understand this may be disappointing, but occasionally we need to remove listings. In some cases, the item itself is fine, but was listed in a way that didn't follow eBay's guidelines.
Here's what you can do next:
-- If you already paid, received your item, and you're satisfied, please disregard this notice.
-- If you won the item but haven't paid, don't pay. Since eBay removed the listing, you're no longer obligated to go through with the transaction.
-- If you already paid for this item through eBay, and it's past the estimated delivery time, you can open a case in our Resolution Center. Click the link below, and select the "I haven't received it yet" option. This will guide you through the process of opening a case.

fraud
I sold an item (( # 330508386923) to an American Dr. in Northborough for US$ 358. The person paid through paypal and I sent the item by registered mail. After that he claimed his money from Ebay (NOT paypal) as the item ‘was not received’ (Case # 5006802520), so the amount was deducted automatically from my account. As fraud was very evident, I started an investigation at the Dutch postal Customer Service. I got a report that the item was received on the 12th of Febr. 2011. Ebay.com cannot read the report as it is written in Dutch. On his turn Ebay.nl refers to ebay.com. Ebay is en expert in giving replies without contents, that is to say they are very good in sending useless info and only refer to other sites, persons but they are not able to solve a matter like this. Moreover they are not interested doing this and they tolerate and reward this type of fraud. I stopped selling after 12 years. To me Ebay-protection is down to zero.

Ebay Final Value Fees -DOUBLED!
eBAY IS charging double on what they call "final value fees". A seller is charged an "insertion fee" for being able to list an item as an auction (one fee) and as a buy it now item (another fee). Both fees are insertion fees and make sense. The problem comes when the item is sold. It can only sell ONE way or the other. If an item sells as an auction, the final value fee is a % based on the sell price. However, if the item is sold as a "buy it now" item, then there is a final value fee schedule based on the dollar value of the item sold. I have found that when some of my items sold this way - I was charged BOTH the buy it now final value fee AND the auction % fee - as if it sold as an auction too (which is a much higher fee). THIS IS DOUBLE CHARGING FOR THE FINAL VALUE FEES. When I complained, they DID issue me a credit for all of these items, but informed me that doing further business with them, I would continue to be billed in this manner. However, nowhere on any of their information in customer service or on their websites, does it state that as a seller: 'YOU WILL BE CHARGED BOTH AN AUCTION % FINAL VALUE FEE AND A BUY IT NOW FINAL VALUE FEE' no matter how the item sells. They don't say that because that is double charging for the same service. The insertion fee is paid under BOTH ways because as a seller, you want to give the buyer both options. However, in the final value fee - which is only based on the sold item - they can't charge both fees. It should be based on how it sold and as per their fee schedule. Yes, they try to confuse you. But this is really clear and I wish I knew where to go to get to the appropiate people to complain. I want to continue as a seller, but cannot do so, until they correct this problem. Out of my 16 items sold, which sold for just under $300 (not including shipping charges) they over charged me 8 times for a total of $5.26. I was issued a "one-time" credit because I MADE SENSE! But I was warned that it would not be done again. This is not right and they need to be notified and correct this. The amounts are small and maybe people don't notice - but they should. If you can help me or know where I can go, contact me at [email protected]. THANK YOU

crediting my charge card
March 24, 2011
Dear Corporation Executive Officer of each Agency,
Attached is a copy of the letter I wrote to Ebay’s CEO John Donahoe regarding two refunds I have yet to receive. I am now forced to take the issue one step further because I have had no response from Mr. Donahoe.
Ebay has no problem taking money from credit cards or bank accounts but they certainly have a difficult time returning money. And they make it virtually impossible to actually speak to a human when you have a problem.
Something needs to be done about their current business practices.
Sincerely,
Karen M. Hansen

President & CEO John Donahoe,
Both of the “cases” below were ruled in my favor after a lot of procrastination on Ebay’s end. After multiple forms, repeated long distant phone calls and being passed around for approximately one month I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUNDS. Ebay had NO PROBLEM deducting these costs from my credit card, and yet it seems to be an incredible hardship to return the money. I want the amounts put back on my credit card or refunded in check form including tax, and shipping. It is amazing that everyone I spoke to passed me on to someone who promised to send checks yet I still have not received anything!!
Good news! eBay Customer Support has reviewed the case and made a final decision. We issued you a full refund of $26.32 on Sep 15, 2010. (haven’t received it!)
In October while still waiting for the first refund a similar deception occurred for $8.00 plus shipping and tax. I am still waiting for this refund. (see below)
If I do not receive a full refund for both items including tax, shipping, and I should receive interest on my with held monies at this point; before March 15th I will forced to contact all of the agencies listed below.
If you still have questions or concerns, please contact eBay Customer Support. You can also view the complete details of this case in the Resolution Center

eBay buyer protection not real procet buyer
I had a bad experience on eBay in recently. I purchased a diamond ring on eBay which is for my mother birthday, it cost $500, when I got the ring on March 14 and discover the item is not descript as in the listing statement, I email the seller (which goes by the name connies135) this item will be immediately return. The next day I received the seller email say this item no return. Then I opened disputed on March 15, and I put my returning delivery confirmation on my disputed. The next day which is March 16 I got the eBay final decision was to the seller favor.
I called eBay specialist and told them this item already returned to seller, I can’t get it back to me. But the eBay was not tried to protect the buyer, they said they can’t do anything since this case made final decision. If eBay tried to protect the buyer in this case: they should not closed this case so quickly, the eBay specialist should wait for seller get back the item and then confirm the seller resent back the item to buyer. But they don’t want take this chance to protect the buyer lost. Recently, the seller resell my item on eBay, I noticed to eBay seller already got back the item and resell on eBay, but I got answer was they don’t do anything because the case already made final decision and closed, that mean they don’t care even you purchased on eBay.
I email the seller connies135, and let her know I don’t mind pay the returning shipping cost, I knew that seller return this item back or not is from her heart which I paid for my mother birthday. And which since the eBay don’t want to take this liability.

I received the item and it was completely damaged
I bought an item on Ebay and paid for the item with shipping and insurance. I received the item and it was completely damaged. I took the broken item with the box and all the supporting documents to the local Post Office (Oak Hill, VA) and filed a claim. The item was $7.99 and the shipping was $9.25 + $1.30 for insurance.
I have not heard anything from the USPS. I visited the office where I filed the claim and was told that it might take up to a year.
After several attempts to get the status of the claim, I was told that they cannot find any records of the claim and suggested for me to go there again and resubmit the claim.
I am now coming back from there and wasted another hour of my time since they suggested to only reimburse the item price and not the shipping and insurance. I did not accept that and asked to talk to the postmaster, but was denied the request.
I asked to file a complaint and was only given the 800 number to call. I am buying almost everything online and from now on I will only buy if they ship using some other methods beside USPS.

Bad Business Practices
I have been a member on Ebay for ten+ years. I've bought as well as sold, having only two issues in all those years. I sold a baby book that the purchaser changed their mind on. I gave them a return, however, upon receiving the book back, it was ruined. It looked like it had been sitting in the rain (possibly on their porch). I contacted Ebay and was told I had to return the money since their was no proof the book looked like that when the buyer received it (the buyer said in feedback that it was received in great condition). I refused and Ebay took the money anyway. I did not sell again for over a year. Last week I sold a couple of pairs of jeans that were non refundable (didn't want to deal with wrong size issues). She wanted a return and opened a case, stating they were not what she ordered. I called Ebay and they said I did not have to give her a return, their were photos and descriptions and I stated no returns. Ebay gave the buyer my phone number, who then left nasty messages on my answering machine. I called her back and told her I would give her a refund upon receiving the jeans back but would not pay for her return shipping. She said ok. I never received the jeans back and the case was escalated by the buyer, saying their were stains on the jeans (this was well over a week later). Ebay issued a refund and I never got the jeans back. I immediately closed my account which according to them, will take 180 days. They have also made it to where you can only leave positive feedback for buyers. If you sell on Ebay, you put your Paypal acct at risk. They will take the money oout, even if you do not agree. They will also give your contact information out without your consent as was done to me.
