Their practice is, at the best shady and bordering on deception
spammers, hidden charges not disclosed - Having recently booked 4 tickets for friends to Lanzarote with ebookers.com it was told that the cost of my flights would be £218.78 avg per person all taxes included. only when I purchased did I find out that there would be a £10.00 charge per ticket over and above the cost of booking direct with the airline. Although it did say earlier on in the process "a fee of upto £10.00 per ticket May be applied", that was as deffinite as it got until you had paid the price. On the book out screen, there was a Charge of £0.60 payment card fee, but there is no mention of the £10.00 per ticket, this is well and truly hidden in another additional click on Taxes and Fees, but even on opening this it is still not clearly disclosed that £40.00 extra has been added on. On trying to complain about this, my telephone calls were put through to India and the Pillipines, and I was refused the telephone number and email address for the London Office. To make matters worse, I now find that apart from fleecing me for £40.00 there is an additonal luggage charge per customer, each way, levied by the airline that was not disclosed by ebookers, nor the airline concerned.My concern is that ebookers are deliberately witholding and hiding relevent extra charges knowing that anyone in their right mind would not use their service and willingly pay £10.00 per ticket over the price of booking direct with the airline. In my view, this practice is, at the best shady and bordering on deception.

Unauthorized billing
They have withdrawn £300 from our credit card without authorisation. There is no explanation for what it is for. We have an invoice saying that we have paid more than is due, yet they are now refusing to refund it. They have given us the run around for 2 weeks, and given us a multitude of excuses. Ranging from we owe them money, to we agreed that amount(we have no reference and there are records of what the amount is for)When we send them the receipt of what is owed they then deny receiving it, they also say they have no record of them owing money yet they have sent us an email to this effect.

Appalling customer service
Used them for a trip to the states 2 months ago. Completely messed up the hotel booking leaving us stranded in a foreign country without any accomodation. Still pursuing a refund for the hotel! Will add notes as progresses. Customer Services is appalling.

Unfair and possibly dishonest?
I have bought from ebookers a pair of return flight tickets from Manchester to Rio at 9.30pm on Tuesday 9/9/2009. Shortly after I have found that the same ticket was cheaper elsewhere (eg, at lastminute.co.uk and expedia.co.uk). No problem, I thought, for ebooker offers a "Best Price Guarantee".

The next morning I phoned them and was asked to say where I had found a cheaper offer. I mentioned expedia.com, the ebookers representative checked expedia's website and told me "yes, print this out and send it to us", which I promptly did. The email went to them at 12pm.

However, and contrary to what I heard in that first phone call, there was a problem with that expedia.com offer: the first leg of the return flight (Rio to Paris CDG) was two hours earlier than in my ebookers reservation, in which I hadn't specified any preferred time (route, airline and class were the same).

Ebookers wrote to me saying that the first printout was no good at 10.37pm, 25 five hours after my initial booking. I then sent them another printout (this time from lastminute.co.uk, which I had also saved when I realised the price difference), in which every single detail of the trip was EXACTLY as in my purchase. Then their answer was "as you're sending this more than 24 hours after your booking, no refund".

The refund I was expecting should be of 192 or 476 pounds, depending on what other price the ebookers one was compared to.

In my opinion, ebookers has been unfair. Whether they have also been dishonest, that is something I'll leave for you to decide.
