Ecco Shoes Reviews

Soles fall apart
The soles on my Ecco shoes just started falling off in sticky chunks and pieces. These shoes have had very very little wear and now they are useless. They have the black soles and are made in Portugal. The model is 08 608182 45. I thought I had purchased a quality pair of ecco shoes but I was wrong. From all the posts here on problems with ecco shoes, it appears that I am just another victim of a shoddy product.
I will never again buy ecco brand shoes.

soles disentergrating
very little wear on shoes when soles starting to flake off at ball of feet my shoe cobbler states this amterial has a history of this in several other companies and can not be repaired. I am diebetic and these shoes were recommended by sales person at Dillards in Richmond Indiana. at 82 years of age I am not out running in these or abuseing the shoes. on fixed income I feel the shoes shoud be replaced.

great uppers rotting soles
I bought a pair of ECCO TRACK Waterproof shoes, paying nearly $200.00 at a store in Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks--I hesitated at the price but was sold when my wife said, "You deserve a good pair of shoes." I did not deserve what happened to them after not more than half-a-dozen wearings. We were at a restaurant when I happened to look down at the floor, thinking I had stepped on some food waste--it was the entire raised (foam?) sole coming off in pieces, as the attached photos will attest. I emailed them, noting even that while a resident of Denmark (company's home, I believe), I had become impressed by the quality of Danish products and the apparent way in which Danish companies did business which seem to place great emphasis on pride in service and products.
I received no answer and have this pair rotting shoes--only the soles, not the uppers which look fantastic, still.
UGH! If Ecco can hear the Echo, at least honor your customers with some kind of response. Which I don't expect now, some three weeks later. Moreover, after seeing the rest of the board on this one, I'll just chalk it up to a sad experience and hopefully warn some others off making the mistake I did. J. Benti

Cracks in Soles
I bought a pair of Ecco men's shoes in October, 2009. After wearing them for less than six weeks the soles of both shoes began to crack. These were deep cracks. I wrote an email to Ecco Shoes Customer Service and they sent me a mailing bag to send the shoes to them for inspection. After several weeks passed and no response, I contacted them again. They said they never received the shoes. They said there was no recourse for me. I did everything they told me to do. I am out my leaking, cracked soled shoes and they claim absolutely no responsibility.

I will never purchase another pair of their shoes and I warn others who are considering ECCO Shoes that the quality of the product and their cavalier approach to customer service is lacking.

Disintegrating Soles
When the soles of my Ecco MX hiking boots turned to gel and layer underneath disintegrated and tracked black gunk all over the carpet and tile, I thought that I had a truly unusual situation. I had worn them only a couple of times, stored them in an air conditioned closet with no humidity or UV. While looking for company information, I came across this website and was amazed that this was clearly a manufacturing defect. Even more amazed at the company's lack of interest or attention. So I wrote an e-mail to Ecco customer service. No response, two weeks later. However, I give credit to Dillard's, where I purchased the shoes (2 identical pairs, no less @$225 each), as they made an adjustment for my inconvenience. By my count, I have purchased at least 10 pairs of Ecco shoes over the years; based on their lack of response, I'll now turn to a competitor. I can't believe, from what I've been reading on your site, that I am precisely the type of return customer that they're alienating! Oh well, nothing lasts forever...

Soles falling apart
I'd been a huge fan of Ecco shoes for over 10 years. But I will not buy another pair now that I've had problems with multiple pairs. The problem is that their soles turn to mush and fall apart. It's almost as if they'd turned to jello.

My biggest gripe is that their customer service dept has a bunch of douche bags working for them. They kept insisting that the warranty coverage is only for one year - even for manufacturing defects! They offered to send me a copy of their warranty so that I can review it; what an unprofessional thing to say to your customer!
I asked to speak with their manager and ended up leaving a message on his voice mail; and of course, I never heard back.

soles rotting off
I have 8 pairs of Ecco shoes that are cursed with rotting soles. This is upsetting, as after a few yrs of moderate use, it's unfathomable that they should literally, fall apart. The price paid for the shoes were not cheap, and if I dont get some free repairs done, I will look to other shoe makers that back their products. The entire line is rotten with rotten soles, I might add. I have 10 pairs of Eccos. Two pair of the soles are thus in great shape. This oughtta be a class-action thing, seems endemic in the line.
whom do I contact about this?

shoes (sole) falling apart
Shoe Style ecco shaker

My Dr. recommended your brand. I bought a few pairs a few years ago.The reason I buy your brand is because I had a right foot operation and i needed the width and comfort. I pd. over 100.00 dollars for this pair. I knew this shoes would last years and No!

The right heel and some of the rest of the sole is falling apart. Also the left shoe is started to do the same. I cannot use them anymore.

I would like to mail them to you for review and invaluation. I would like in return a new pair of the same shoe or have a choice of another pair.
I do not have a receipt.

Thank you for reading my complaint.

Terrible experience
I purchased a pair of Ecco walkers several years ago. Most compfortable shoes I had ever owned, and the most expensive. Walking 5 miles a day, I wore them out .. the soles anyways, rest of the shoe still looked great. I stopped in at an Ecco retail outlet to purchase a replacement pair only to find out they had been discontinued. Why do shoe manufacturers do this? Feet haven't changed much in the last 2, 000 years, you would think someone would have come up with a perfect shoe by now. Anyways, I wrote a complaint to the company (Ecco) never expecting to hear back ... my warranty had long since expired. A couple of months later, I found a nice little box on my front portch. Opened it up ... lo and behold, a brand new pair of Ecco walkers ... compliments of Ecco. Only problem, these new shoes (even though more expensive) are crap compared to my old ones so I hardly ever wear them. Moral of the story is ... never associate a name brand with quality ... and ... if you have an issue with a product "good", or, bad let them know about it. I think sometimes companys hear so much negative feedback they tend to overlook the things they were doing right.
