Not only is their service expensive, the product does not work. We signed up for their $99/quarter plan in the summer of 2010. We were most interested in controlling spiders and snails--both of which they sprayed for. A week after the initial application, we saw no reduction in pests. We called Eco to take advantage of their warranty and they came out the following week to spray again. We waited a couple of weeks to see how the second application worked and still saw no reduction in pests. We called yet again to schedule a third application under their warranty. You guessed it, two weeks later, no reduction in pests. I called and spoke with the manager about my disappointment. I explained that the product was not working. I also voiced concerns about bi-weekly poison applications and potentially poisoning my children who regularly play in my yard. The manager would not listen to reason. He just kept reminding me that they have a warranty and, if I was not satisfied, to reschedule a warranty application. He also admitted that it typically takes more than a single application to “get things going.” I argued that if this were true, why was it not part of the routine schedule. He just circled back to his warranty comment.
Next stop was my bank. I blocked future credit card drafts and disputed prior charges. Unfortunately, the agreement they have you sign is completely in favor of EcoFirst. No matter their performance, you cannot cancel the service without paying the cancellation fee. And here is the kicker, Eco was able to circumvent my credit card block by running the charge as Ecosure.
Bottom line is I am eating hundreds of dollars for a spray that could have been nothing more than warm water. Be warned.
