Worst Customer Experience!
I just had the worst customer service experience ever, dealing with e-cost!
they did not backup there warranty or the manufactures warranty! they sent me in circles between manufacture and them until the warranty expired. first it was a 1yr. warranty than oops it's a 90 day warranty and yours just expired.
don't buy from these buys, no matter how good the deal!

Worst customer service, ever
I don't even have the energy to write about how frustrated I have been dealing with a return to Ecost that was lost by the shipper. I called and emailed countless times to get resolution, was given conflicting information, and finally after my 3rd or fourth 3-way call with them and UPS, a claim was filed. UPS was always very helpful, but they could not do anything for me directly, and Ecost was hardly timely in filing the necessary claim. It has already been over 2 months I've been dealing with this, and in my most recent call to Ecost I was informed that it should be resolved by the end of the week. With the addendum that I should call next Monday if I hear nothing. Which is likely, as I have had to be on their backs constantly throughout this entire process. It's ridiculous that I should have to hunt them down to fix a problem that began with them shipping me the wrong product to begin with. The irony is, I didn't even want a refund, I would have been happy with a replacement of the correct product. But, after this ordeal, I don't care if they are giving their stock away, I will never do business with them again and will encourage everyone I know to steer clear of them also.

Total scam
I came across an offer for a refurbished ds that I was interested in. When I tried to buy it I found i needed to purchase a trial membership for $1 had difficulty so I called them and was told that membership was unavailable that I had to buy the $39.95 membership so foolishly I did. Then I couldn't put the item in my cart. Was told I had to wait for it to pop up on the screen on certain days and try to by it. I asked for my membership to be canceled and was denied. So I spent hours trying to catch the item com up during the scheduled time. Never happened. Called the next day requesting a refund and after much discusion was told a special request would be submitted and that I would be contacted within 48 hours. Surprise no contact. Telephoned again demanding an explanation and refund and was pretty much told "TOUGH LUCK". They claim to disclose their everything clearly but it is confusing and they know it.They may be able to get away with this legally but moraly they lose. P.S. should you want to purchase this membership for the 5 free shipping offers go to free shipping .com for about 12 dollars a month you get up to 500 dollars of free shipping rebates a year from many retailers icluding this one and they really do pay. I use it .

Don't buy from them
I bought an iPod as a Christmas gift on Dec. 19th and paid for 2nd Day Air to ensure delivery by Christmas (as the eCost website prompted me to do.)
I received a shipping notice on Dec. 20th. When I did not receive the item by the evening of the 22nd, I checked the shipping status with UPS. It was still listed as "Billing Information Received". I called UPS to ask if they had received the item from eCost. They had not received the item from eCost to ship yet.
I called eCost early the morning of the 23rd and asked them to cancel the order. I explained that I needed the item that day (the 23rd), as we were leaving town the next day. I explained how I lived up to my end of the transaction by paying for the item immediately with an expectation that they would then send the item to arrive by Christmas (the reason I paid for 2nd day air.) The customer service rep first replied "all sales are final." After I further explained that a sale was not completed because I did not have the item in possession, he said he would file a "cancellation request" and that since the item had not shipped yet, it should not be an issue. I went and bought another iPod that day.
On Dec. 27, we return home. Later that day, my wife finds a package on our door step from eCost. I called customer service and explained that I had requested to cancel the item and was surprised to receive it and that I wanted to return the iPod for a refund. They gave me the standard "all sales are final" line. I said that I understood, but that I had requested to cancel the order before it had shipped because they had not delivered in a timely manner. I was told they would file a Return Authorization request.
I called back several times to check on the status of my return request. I kept being told to check back later, and that no one in the RA department or in management was available to talk. I called again today Jan. 4th, a week after the initial RA request was made, and asked about the status of the return authorization. I was told an email was sent with the RA request on Dec. 30th. I never received the e-mail and asked if they could resend it.
The e-mail reply I get simply repeats, "all sales are final."
I am at a loss how a company advertises "World Class Customer Service" and will not process a simple return request when they failed to deliver the item in a timely manner and then failed to cancel the order when that request was made.
Save yourself the time and headache, DO NOT BUY FROM eCOST!

Wrong item
We placed a web order for a LG 60" plasma TV at what looked like a very good price. It showed in stock. We called to verify that it was and it would be here before the SuperBowl. We were assured that it would be to us in less than 1 week. 1 week latar (and 3 days before the game we had no tv. We were told it was back ordered but was going out now. On the Friday before the Superbowl we recieved a tv but not a 60" . We recieved a 50" LG plasma . So we called and they told us we placed the order on the web and had ordered a 50" . We said no and were told all sales are final. We asked for a supervisor and were then told that we could pay 20% restock and shipping fees totaling $485 and we could return it. The TV cost $1000 this is half the price !! We told them it was their mistake and we wer told they didn't make mistakes and we would have to keep the TV. Thank God we used Pay-Pal . It may take up to 30 days but we won't be charged for their mistake. DON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

Terrible Service
I attempted to purchase an MSI Wind All-In-One desktop PC from eCost.com they beat the competition's price by about 70 dollars. I had never ordered from eCost.com before so I was a little nervous. Apparently I should have gone with my gut. I placed the order on 11/3/2010 everything went fine, they called a few hours later to confirm all of the billing information (I thought it was odd since none of the other online retailers I have ordered from have done this before, but also thought it was kind of nice that they verified everything.) So I went about business as usual. A business week later I hadn't received any tracking information or updates so I contacted there customer service via email. They responded to me the next day and said that the order had been canceled, due to the item being out of stock...I was shocked. I checked the site again and it showed up as In Stock...I was a little confused so I called there customer service. She confirmed that the order had indeed been canceled due to the item being out of stock. I told her that on there site that it showed up as in stock. She found it and said yes it was in stock now. She then asked if I'd like to place the order...due to the fact that they never told me that the original order was canceled to begin with I pissed at there communication skills to me the customer and decided to pay a little extra from NewEgg.com and get the item from there. At least I know that they will send me the order quickly it's worth the extra cash. I will never order from eCost again.

SCAM Refurbished sold as new...
So I bought what was supposed to be a NEW Jawbone Icon headset. I have attached a picture from the website.
The headset I got was a Jawbone, but it had NO original packaging or the fitting kit that they come with. The fitting kit features 7 ear-buds that make the thing stay in your ear comfortably and without it the headset is useless.
The headset was scratched and the manual was used. I have attempted to contact them numerous times and gotten no response via email and nowhere with the phone support people.
ECOST IS A TOTAL RIPOFF SCAM!
Now listen closely...I read most of your complaints. You don't have to put up with this garbage. Contact the company once or twice via email and then initiate a charge-back at your bank. Tell you bank they were supposed to refund you and haven't.
Ecost will more than likely eat the chargeback. I wouldn't even send the item back until they paid for a waybill from Fedex or UPS and sent it to you.
Don't play games with these people. Just own them using my instructions above.

Customer support via email is non existent as even after 3 emails I never even got one response
Mis-representation of item sold. Customer support via email is non existent as even after 3 emails I never even got one response. After complaining on another review site they actually called me about my problem but never called back and never resolved the issue (refurb laptop that arrived with non working hard drive).

Advertisement - FALSE
I bought a 3D LCD 120Hz monitor with a DVI port on it. Ecost's site said I could use a HDMI->DVI cable to connect it to my laptop, and in fact suggested it as an add-on. I purchased the monitor and the cable and when it arrived I was told by Viewsonic that the HDMI->DVI cable will not work with 3D and all I would get is 60Hz not120Hz. eCost will not take it back even though they are the ones who said it would work together. Now I have a highly overpriced 3D 120Hz monitor that only does 60Hz.

No Inventory - They LIE!
I ordered 2 items that were listed in stock. Their invoice email said thank you for the order and it was being processed. Several days later, I was eMailed by them saying one of the items is no longer being manufactured, and the other is on back-order. Of course when I went to their site, both are still listed as in stock...
See for yourself. I am sure they are still "In Stock"
http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=49832271
and
http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=3408956
(Both items shown in screen shots 1 week after learning they were not in stock and have still NOT shipped.)
I have requested a order cancellation, but have not heard back from them yet. Why do I predict a credit card dispute in my future? eCost is a fraud. Buyer beware!
