No refund!
I Purchased 0n Feb.1,2008 a Brand new Soyo 42” LCD HD TV. From Ecost.com. I received it on Feb. 5th. And it didn't work from the moment we plugged it in. Called to exchange and to obtain a return authorization number. They told me they wouldn't take it back and to call the manufacturer SOYO direct for a repair or replacement I told them I did not want a repair or replacement but my money back after all I did buy it from them brand new.
They told me their return policy states. Ecost.com Return Policy for TV’s 42” or greater if defective you must contact manufacture. For replacement or repair Ecost.com does not accept return merchandise for exchange or repairs. No refunds or credit will be granted after purchase from Ecost.com. The manufactures warranty applies. Please contact the manufacturer directly.
One Feb.5th I did call SOYO tech support after they had stepped me thru a bunch of checks they decided there was nothing else they could do. And if I wanted my money back I would have to contact Ecost.com
SOYO told me that they would not refund me any money because I bought the TV from Ecost.com but would repair the TV so I told them that I did not want it repaired as it never worked right out of the box. And they said if I wanted money back I would have to contact Ecost.com. Well again I called Ecost.com and told them the story again only this time to someone else at Ecost.com by the name of (Kathy)she told me the same thing, call SOYO for a refund I told her that they said that I had to contact Ecost.com. With that she put me on hold and said a supervisor would call me back. I waited another day when finally a Mr. Gill calls me and gives me the same B.S. that everyone else at Ecost.com gave me call SOYO for a refund authorization number again I told him I wanted my money back and with that he starts to recite his return policy NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS manufactures warranty only applies.
Well by this time I got so disgusted that I called SOYO for a return authorization number so I could return it to them for what ever.
So Buyers beware when dealing with Ecost.com.

Dishonest sales and scam tactics!
Ecost advertised a Samsung 58" 1080p plasma TV for 2,519. Called to confirm US warranty, new, etc. Had them check warehouse stock to confirm was available (Online said in stock). Processed order. Credit card was reported as would not authorize. Called bank and they said absolutely not, was authorized and card showed $2,700+ on credit hold to ecost. Called back, they said we see no order, etc. Continued to insist they had it in stock, to process it again. Multiple phone calls of escalating intensity, finally people apologize, said not sure why we were told it was in stock. Meanwhile they have a credit hold on $2700 and we can't get a TV elsewhere. Plot thickens, Two days later, they still list it as in stock and after a blistering round with a supervisor, the item now is listed as Temp out, than the price jumps up $900. Now it is clear, they never intended to sell any units at the low price, and just lied to people about availability. They said, just call your credit card company, they will release the money. Does not work like that, there is still a hold 4 days later. Multiple calls, letters. I point out how obvious there scam was by the sudden jump in price. Like a puppet, they change the price back down to the lower price, and say it is IN STOCK again! I call again to "order" the unit, they ask my name, put me on hold, and suddenly the TV is listed as out of stock now! I say they were trying to set up their low ball scam again. Five minutes later, the price is changed again, and they still have our money tied up. I had done business with them before, but clearly they are bottom dwelling scam artists. DO not waste your time or money with them, they clearly have no concern about integrity or customer loyal as I had purchased from them before. Really turned my stomach to see them jump back and forth like idiot puppets to get out of their own way when every thing they did made it more obvious they were dishonest. Go anywhere else. I will be sending a formal complaint to the State Attorney General as I believe this is fraud, and I also believe taking $2700 of money I would have access to and preventing my use of that is a form of theft. Especially when it was done when ecost had no intention of processing the order.

Scam and cheating!
Returned defective merchandise on October 10, 2007 and have not received refund as of December 19, 2007. Reason of their internal company refund policy. E-cost furnished return DHL lable to me and I have returned merchandise vis DHL. But, DHL lost return package. They will not refund until DHL settle the lost merchandise. As a customer, I have nothing to do with DHL, I have performed all parts as requested by Ecost.com
I'll recommend do not purchase any product from the e-cost.

Bogus reasons to not pay the rebate
I too was a victim of their rebate scam, did everything according to the rebate form, yet both companies came back with bogus reasons to not pay the rebate. Went to the bbb, filed a complaint, company told the bbb they where going to make good on the rebate but did not.

Rebate scam
Until today no body from eCost has contacted me or send me any email regarding this matter.
I did talk with 2 customer rep. on Feb. 5th, and both responded that a supervisor will contact me.
I asked both reps. to please make notes in their system, and they replied that they did make the necessary notations. Any way did not received any package and did not receive any email or any phone call.
Just before I was about to click send, I decided to re-check my mail-box, and I found the package from ecost (which was supposed to be send thru DHL). I called ecost and talked with Bob the customer rep. He was very nice and polite but could not resolve the problem or issue. He tried to find a supervisor to help me, but no where to be found(what a surprise). Any way he made some more notes in the computer and Bob said some one will call me tomorrow (2-13-2007). I am keep every thing cross but at the same time probably call the customer support to resolve this issue. By using google checkout I thought google will help me. Think again. Buyer beware. You are on your own.

No warranty to the performance of the product
I purchased a refurbished Sony CD Clock Radio from E-Cost. When I received it, the CD player did not work. I called to get a return authorization and was told I had to go through Sony's service department first. I called the number they gave me and it was constantly busy. I finally found a working number on the Sony web page. I was told to ship it back for replacement, but that I would have to pay shipping costs. E-Costs fine print on warranties either refers you to the manufacturer or tells you the sale was made "as is" and they make no warranty to the performance of the product. I will never buy anything from this company again.
