THE WORST SOFTWARE ON THE MARKET!
Like some previous users, I also searched for several web based POS system, and after reading the TOP TEN REVIEW, I had decided to give effortless E a try.
I've called them first to get a "feel" of the company, and I was promissed to have the system set up for me, within an hour from signing up with them online and that I would be ready to go on that same day!
So, I did. Signed up online, made a payment with my credit card, and waited... for the whole day... and nothing.
To find on the next day, two emails from them. First email with a subject saying "ACTION REQUIRED - Payment method declined for invoice ####".. and the email saying:
"Your automatic payment was declined for invoice ####. The message we received back from the payment network was: dc_transaction_amount is required.

As a result, your account has been taken off of AutoBill so that you may supply us with new payment information. Please do this before the due date on the invoice to avoid additional fees. Click the link below to view your invoice, and pay by following the link under "Payment Instructions" near the bottom of the invoice:

View / pay your invoice:http://6205.webpossystem.com/bin/pos/tc/ViewInvoiceDetails.asp?I=

If you have any questions or problems viewing your invoice, please feel free to contact us via live chat on our web site, via our ticket system on the Help menu in your webPOS system, or by phone at 888-362-9307. Do not reply to this email as your response will not be received."

I clicked on the link attached, and got nowhere, the page had an error, so I was not sure, what happened at first, because my credit card had gone through during the sign up.

Then I got another email with the subject saying " New effortlessE Invoice Number #### due 2011-4-10"... and the email says:
"You have a new invoice waiting to be viewed. Please click the link below to view / pay your invoice:

View / pay your invoice:http://6205.webpossystem.com/bin/pos/tc/ViewInvoiceDetails.asp?I=####

If you have any questions or problems viewing your invoice, please feel free to contact us via live chat on our web site, via our ticket system on the Help menu in your webPOS system, or by phone at 888-362-9307. Do not reply to this email as your response will not be received."

and again the link attached did not work, so I was unabble to view the invoice. I was also not able to contact them over the phone, because their office our was restrisct to weekdays, and that was a weekend.
SO, I could not figure out what was happening, rather my payment had gone through or not.
But given the subjects on both email, I had assumed that they didn't receive the payment, and so that was the reason why, I didn't have the system set up for me.
So I started to search for another WEB based pos system, since, this one, was giving me so much trouble.
Then I found another company (MERCHANTOS)... no set up fees, free trial, with much better customer service, as they set me up, right a way from siging up, I was REALLY ready to go. and it didn't take more than 15 minutes, and their support replied to me when I had questions..and all that in one day!

The following day (Sunday), I signed up on Friday, got two emails from Effortless on Saturday, and then ONLY on Sunday I receive another email from them with a subject "Access to your new webPOS system".
By now, I was really confuse about the status of my "signing up" with this company. So went through their set up, and ONLY then I was able to see the link they've sent me (wich was basically their ticket)...to find out then, that my card did go through, and that I was charged.
So I called them to cancel my account and I wanted a refund, because I figure, if I had so much trouble setting up, and getting started, imagine later down the road. But their customer service was the WORST I have ever had to deal with, they did not want to refund the amount charged, even though they've confused me with the emails and waisted my time and money. They've charged me $199, 17 dollars for a program and a service that I do NOT WISH to use. They've asked to to give a try, but had seen how others program works now, effortless e is FAR FROM BEING the best software on the market.

Unable to stop subscription
As part of a research project into web-based Point of Sales systems I signed up to the Effortlesse 30 day trial of their WebPOS system to play around with the software and see if it was useful for our needs. It wasn't and so I looked on their site for how to unsubscribe but couldn't find out where (it's hidden in their terms and conditions it seems, which is very nice of them)

If you are thinking of signing up to this demo be warned that they do not respond to 'Trouble Tickets' which you submit through their tech connect system and in fact charged my card well over a MONTH after I submitted a ticket telling them to cancel my account, as their sales people advised me to. They have now refunded me for one of the month's fees but only after threatening them with legal action, prior to that they simply ignored me.

Dodgy in my opinion and I will never deal with them again.
