On January 2nd, 2011, I purchased an area rug from Einstein-Moomjy and paid a 50% deposit toward the purchase. The store indicated 6-8 weeks for delivery. Three months go by and I think "Didn't I order a carpet?" I called the store and was told they needed to contact their procurement department to find out. They never called back. I called back again, same deal. Another two weeks go by and finally I ask to speak to a store manager. He's not there, so they leave him a message. He never called back. Finally, I contacted their main office and was told there were problems with procuring the rug because the manufacturer was unable to deliver. I was told they were canceling my order and the manager at the store at which I bought the rug would call me regarding the credit. He didn't call. So, I called and spoke to him and was told he submitted the credit request to the billing department and a credit would be on my card within three days. A week goes by, and there's no credit. So, I dropped by the store and asked him to run my card on their credit card terminal and issue a refund. He said he couldn't do that and he would follow up with billing on Monday. Finally, I just called my credit card company to dispute the charge. They said they found it unreasonable that they wouldn't issue a refund on the spot.
In the meantime, I ordered the same rug from Macy's. It was delivered in 5 days.
