dear sir
i am writing this complaint in respect of the way my south african wife was treated by the boarding gate staff in cairo airport. on the 14th may 2010 my self my wife and our 2 kids wer flying to the uk from johannesburg stoping in cairo along the way my wifes visa had expired and she was told she couldnt fly to london so my self having a british passport took our 2 year old son and boarded the plane i was assured that because my wife had to wait from 10 a.m untill midnight with our 1 year old daughter that they would be looked after given food as she only had south african rand. this was not the case as when i left cairo my wife was told to wait at the departure gate she asked the boarding gate staff if it was possible to get some milk for our daughter she was told abruptly to go and sit down and that this was not there problem. another passenger saw my wife bein treated this way and took it upon himself to help my wife. on arrival back in tambo international south africa. my wife was told to wait on the plane and someone would come to her so she waited and someone came and told her she would have to pay R3.700 this was not possible as she did not have that kind of money on her so the man took my wife and child to the ejypta office in the airport where they told her they were keeping my wifes south african passport and they also kept my daughters british passport now i have been advised that this was illegal for an airline to keep passports. and strongly advise anyone thinkin about flyin with ejypt air to seriously think of another airline as this is just not acceptable and would not like to hear this happen to anyone this was the most terrible experience that my wife has ever had written by james drummond on 24/5/2010 my email address is [email protected]
