Shame on you El Coronado Restaurant-Mary Coronado and Dave Dudson.

Open since 1999 Cafe Bonita worked hard to provide great food to Southeast Tucson. After closing its 2nd location on Broadway due to thousands of dollars being stolen in electricity by the neighboring nail shop, times got tight at its original location in Rita Ranch.

Fighting through a 30% increase in food cost, increased delivery cost due to gas cost, minimum wage increases we were almost seeing the light. During this time a slim ball broker from Bourn Partners (Dave Dudson) sensed our weakness. Each time during a 12 month period that we were slightly late on rent, Dave tried to lock us out to get Mary Coronado's El Coronado restaurant in, and get a commission since the market was so tight it was a way to make easy money.

Mary Coronado did not have enough money or credit to open her own restaurant. They had to shut us out and keep our equipment and decor in order to open. Even though there were many other empty location.

We fought this off for over a year, even though it was rumored that Mary Coronado and her family were filing bad reviews and bad mouthing Cafe Bonita.

During 2008 we increased our insurance deductible from 500 to 5000 to cut cost. Right as we thought everything would be okay, we had two breakins within several months costing us $5000 in damage the 1st break in, and $7500 the second break in. This got us behind. I also had two life threatening illnesses in 2008. Due to the breakins we became further late on rent. After going in to make a payment to bring us within 30 days, CNA Partners and Venture west would not take our payment. They wanted the 60 days in rent and the following month rent in advance over $15, 000 with 10 days. We did not have time to get a loan. Slim ball Dave Dudson convinced CNA to close us so they could insert El Coronado Restaurant, keep all of our 10 year investment so Dave Dudson could get his commission. Mary Coronado knew what was going on. Shame on your tactics. Our fault for being week, ruthless tactics by Mary and Dave.

Things our getting better for my family and I. I did not see this coming. Had Mary Coronado and Dave Dudson not pressured us out, we woud still be in business. Just need to let people know what happen. Our business was still strong when this happpen. I know I can bounce back.
