The male manager at the el torito in Sherman Oaks is quite a piece of work. How he got into the restaurant business dealing with people is still a mystery to me. He has no people skills whatsoever! He was rude to my party and refused to check if there were any available seats at the bar for my party. The waitress serving us was horrible too, she did not bring us water or napkins or silverware. We had to ask 3 different times and still nothing, then finally I complained to the so called manager and he told her to bring us napkins...still no water or silverware. These people are a joke. Ive been to other el torito locations and the service has been decent, not the best but nothing as horrible as compared to the sherman oaks location. Unfortunately I had to go back to celebrate a friend's birthday who did not believe my story. She was just as pissed off as me when we left that night. They ran out of glasses so could not provide any of us with a glass of water (is that even legal?). We all had two margaritas and when we asked for a second margarita the server brought us the newly made margarita in the same glass (not washed) with the same straw in it...how unsanitary! Now that my friend has experience this awful place, I never have to go back again. Its a shame, the restaurant could have created a better name for itself but clearly they dont take the time to choose the right employees and train them.
