Excessive smoking; microwave defective
I purchased $16, 000 worth of Electralux appliances when I did my kitchen renovation in 1/11. One of the appliances is defective in design. I want everyone to be aware of this before they consider buying it. Electralux Wall Microwave Oven Combination Model EW30MC65JS. The main bottom oven collects the smoke during the cooking process and does not filter it out. When I go to open the oven (whether broiling or baking), the smoke comes out into my face and the smoke alarms go off in my house. I have been trying to get this matter resolved since 1/11. Four separate repairmen have come out. They replaced smoke eliminator part, but that did not fix it (despite the fact that the repairmen wrote on his slip that it did fix it). How would he know? He put the part in and then left. We did not cook any food in front of him to test out the part. Additionally, the microwave portion of the unit does not function. It does not pop popcorn. The sensor functions do not work. Today, a repairmen came out and confirmed the problem still exists. He is required to call the Electralux technical department. When speaking with them, they told him there is nothing wrong with this unit and that it is normal to smoke the way it does. The repairment felt this was not fair and specifically wrote down on his slip that the unit continues to smoke excessively and that it is not normal and needs to be replaced. I have been in touch with customer service supervisor in Georgia. I called her twice today to let her know what happened and got no call back. I will be telling her that if what her technical department is saying is true, that the unit normally smokes like this, that I am demanding a return and refund of the product. If it is not true, then I will consider swapping the unit out for a new one and see what happens. BUYER BEWARE. Even though you may pay for a premium high end product, you may very well get the opposite of what you are expecting!
