Overcharging against our deposit
We were over charged in December for a previous rental. A month we were not there for. We transferred our electric to a new location and we know they understood this or our power wound not be on here. Working with their customer service department gets you no understanding. They simply like to find a way to extort your deposit from you any way they can. It is time for Deregulation of power companies in this state. My mother pay a third of the cost in Ohio and they always contend with heating their homes.

loss of payment/turn off service
I pay my account on time. During the month of November 2010 my elec was turned off, they hadnt recieied my payment. I called to c.s. to find out that they handle accounts in the Philipines and not the US. I first had an agent who was rude, argued and told me that i had to pay to have service turned on, i told him i had sent a m/o to Dallas, allowed time for mail. He said they never received it, there was nothing i could do. I tried to pay over the phone, and he said unless my credit card had a security no, it wouldnt go through, i told him to try, but he argued. Then i asked for a supervisor, he too told me there was nothing i could do, i would have to pay this bill with all the charges. I tried again to pay him, he too argued that my card wouldnt work, i asked once again for him to try, and he did. Well, i guess you were right. The service i received was very unprofessional and i feel that i should somehow be compensated for this service. Its very stupid you cant talk to someone in Tx., that you have to talk to a foreign agent, who cares less if service is satisfactory or not. I chose TXU, as i was told when i moved here from Az. that this was a company that cared about their service. I would never recommend this service to any new person i know, seeing advice on which plan is best in my area.. I as well told my apt. complex about your service. Today once again i waited on the phone to try and make payment arrangements. Waited twenty minutes and no answer. Thank you for you time and attention in this matter

Rude customer service!!
I talked to a repersentative at Centerpoint Energy. They say they have no complaint department but, I do not believe that is true! They talk to you like you have a tail and they have no accurate info for the things they do. I am praying for them to get their attitudes together and realize, they too are not invicible! Customers need to start speaking out more instead of letting them make the rules and control. They can rebill you in September and take the bill all the way to April till September and not tell you why or cause they think you were undercharged! Says who- them? Are you kidding? Stand up and speak people!!!Let's challenge their foolishness!!! NO FEAR HERE!!!

incompetent record keeping
This company has very friendly staff, but their record keeping and billing is unorganized, unprofessional and cost me my electricity for a day when they cut it off, claiming I had asked them to. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Customer Service over phone
Have called 3 times plus e-mailed information. Twice have been disconnected by the staff kept indicating they are looking for something and would hang up. Twice have been asked for my phone # but never called back. Been on hold for 20 minutes and they disconnected again. Called on the 4th time. Still not able to get anyone on the line. Glenn #ID#XLFP Before transferring to another department he wanted to know why I had to talk to a supervisor. Phone was transferred and rang over 40 times and no one answered. 5th call - Called in Spanish, was transferred twice advised problems with Armen - the phone disconnected again. 6th call - Called again - Phone again was disconnected. 7th caal - Called again, for the 5th time. On the phone with Sara, checking information. Still no service

over charging
progress energy sucks, I have been paying for utilities for 8 years never have my utilities turned off. I have been with progress energy for only 10 months they turned off my electricity twice already they treat costumer like trash. I would never signed up with them anyway, but I was forced to. Where I rent my townhouse I have to go with progress, but when I came to rent I chose another area, were I could transfer my utilities. But when I was ready to move in they told me the townhouses I saw are gone . Progress energy have power outage all the time, they had one about three weeks ago that broke my TV. They, overcharge every month my bill is going higher and higher, when I was out for 2 weeks my bill is higher than the 9 previous months, that's ridiculous.
