Poor Tracking information
I'm not complaining about a late delivery although my experience with FedEx is that I should it expect it. My complaint is poor tracking information. The item was scanned and then received and ambiguously scheduled or estimated for 5 days later. Living in an area where packages have gone missing front the front of ones home I made a point to wait for it and adjusted my day accordingly. On the morning of the estimated delivery I went online to check its status but the only information online that had changed since it was scanned and supposedly shipped 5 days earlier was that it was on schedule for delivery. It seems nothing else had changed in the tracking information over the last 5 days. I waited until it was late in the afternoon and checked again and it was still listed as on schedule for deliver so I figured it would arrive within the nest 3 hours. 6:30 PM came and still no delivery so again I logged in to see if it had been rescheduled and once again it was listed as being on schedule for deliver. It wasn't until 7:40 PM on the day of the delivery that the tracking information had changed, and by then I had wasted several hours of my day and now faced a repeat of that performance the following day. With UPS I can usually tell where the item is while in transit, and then on the morning of it's estimated arrival I can go online to check to see if it had in fact arrived. If it has arrived it will show the message out for delivery and if not it will be rescheduled right then and there and I can go about the rest of my day feeling secure and not waiting for what may or may not arrive. With FedEx it's all anyone's idea as to where the ordered item is until well past its estimated delivery date an even then you don't know if the item made it to your city or not, you just know that you'll have to repeat the same performance again the next day. Go with UPS if you want to some peace of mind or use a another vendor!
