This is a new kind of scam/phishing tactic and don't know as of yet how much my personal information has been compromised. There is a high incident level of this which a number of TV News has reported on. I have reported this to the FTC fraud dept. but this should also be a BBB web-site alert to consumers. This is very disheartening when job seekers with little resources are sincerely trying to find work for their families.
The scenario goes like this: I receive email Job Notices or Job Offers by the company who has either got my email by posing as an employer and retrieving personal date from service providers like careerbuilders.com or the company sets up a web-site like Joined.com (which they advertise as a legitimate Job Service) where job seekers join and (again) enter personal information. The interest of Joined.com is not assisting job seekers but to steal personal information for resale to telemarketers, marketing agencies, email spam list, etc. When you research their web-site there is no real Job Search Engine only being re-directed to some other web-sites search of searches of job listings. Further research shows that Joined.com is a related business of 'email-jobsupdates.com' which has been reported as a scam in many TV News reports and is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission. Sincere in my efforts to find a job, now threatened by scammers and defrauders looking to steal and sell my personal information or taking what little money I have by bate-&-switch. Check out the TV News stories links below. So; 1-posing as legitimate Job Service Provider and claiming affiliation with the Federal Jobs and Major cliental. 2-steal/sell personal information. 3-pose as job recruiter then solicit to sell services.
