Hi, I studied at MET league of colleges for the course of eMBA. the course cost me 500, 000 INR. The course was marketed as an empowered MBA also offering a laptop for studying purposes.
Details-
Pros
Faculty-
this is one thing that is really more than money's worth. they have roped in some of the best people available in their particular field. thats not much of Issue.
Infrastructure-
This is also working on the better side of the institute due to a good planning of space and also providing areas to work on for extra-curricular activities.
library-
one of biggest libraries around-
these were some of the visible factors that actually made me want to be a part of MET
disappointments-
management-
1.a bureaucratic organization which requires paperwork in everything. even for an application for a duplicate I.D it takes them about a week or so to actually finish a 2 day work.
2. Sometimes when I reach the classroom for a scheduled lecture, I find there are lectures going on for a different course. when we put up this issue with the management we are told to find out an empty classroom. Correct me if I am wrong, isn't it the management's responsibility to reallocate our classes.
3. Don expect much when it comes to I.V. We were taken to Silvassa and the only things I remember from the trip is..
- We were promised a well known resort and taken to a not at all known resort
- The caterers at the resort, I felt, were experimenting with the food due to which many people lived on salads
- other things were circumstantial like a burst tire, etc
4. foriegn language- We were promised 8 months back that we'll get training in foriegn languages and also forms were filled up, etc No response from that area till date.
faculty
Some of the faculties who teach us quite frankly don't know how to teach, never am I mentioning they don't have knowledge, its just that they don't know how to impart that knowledge to students.
eg. 1 professor just reads from the slides without explaining its implications. an another professor doesn't even read the slides- his logic- I made those slides, why should I read it.
another professor who taught law has a major problem in English. He is a sweet guy and all, but when we got his notes, we had a high time deciphering what it meant!! (guessing the language)
library-
stringent(dumb) rules due to lack of technology-
1. you can't take books inside the library. why? because they haven't been exposed to the RFID technology due to which they can't make out which book is theirs or ours without manually checking. this, in one of the biggest libraries around.
- due this many students can't study in the library even if they buy books which were not available in the library
cafeteria-
Nicely maintained but not a whole lot of options. you get bored of eating similar food daily theres not much of an option as the nearest food stall is quite a walk.
