I ordered the emery cat board over the internet on a Sunday night. I called to confirm my order because it came out to $70+ and the offices were closed so I could not cancel, I tried to e-mail them because I was being charged $70+ for the one board I ordered but they do not even have an e-mail address for their company so there was no way of me cancelling. I called first thing in the morning to try to cancel my order and I got a "Sorry it's too late, we already shipped it." So I sent the boards back to sender and they were going to knock off $30 for shipping for the four boards. Their company service is a huge scam. They have no e-mail address and have no way of cancelling last minute because their customer service reps only work certain hours. I will say one thing, my cats loved the boards. They use them regularly. I recommend buying the boards off of Wal-Mart or some other retail store where you will only be charged one flat fee.

This company uses marketing tactics that should be investigated by the State of Connecticut's Attorney General. Once they have your credit card information, good luck in trying to get out of their system, and hoodwinked into ordering more than you think you are, and paying a cost much higher than you think. They do not let you go to a confirmaiton screen before finalizing your order, thus your credit card information is in their system and the maze they create does not allow you to change the information.

I tried calling them but a recording tell you the offices are closed for the Holiday ( Easter was the next day), and therefore no one could answer my question. The message said to call back on normal business hours, which is what I did, first thing Monday morning at 8:30.

I was told by a customer service rep that the order was already on the truck, and all I could do was refuse the shipment, of course the credit they issue would not include the $30+ in shipping charges. This is really suspect when they tell you to allow 2-3 weks for delivery. That is one slow truck. Oh, and by the way I contacted AMEX, which told me the authorization was not issued until the 5th, but I was told the order was put on the truck on Easter Sunday, ( the day they said they were closed.) Do you really think they would process and order without credit card approval?

Of course refusing the shipment is difficult because you do not know when it is going to arrive. Their order confirmation page has a block for you to check if you want to be notified when your order is shipped, but the message you get with that is " We are currently upgrading our system to serve you better... please try again later". Anyone want odds on when that will happen.

Bottom line, don't even go to this website. The only thing that is going to get trimmed in ordering this product is your bank account. I would say this companies profit center is in the S&H charges they are able to not credit.

This has been a "very bad experience for Me"! #1 They doubled My order! Therefore I got 4 Boards! insult to injury They also sent Me a box of refills as well, I did not order! I have 1 CAT! I notified them immediately They sent the wrong amount! #2 The product is useless! My cat wouldn't go near it ! #3 My cat loves "Store brand Catnip". It entices her to play with Her toys in the area's I want Her to stay in, She pays attention to Me when She sees Me with the container it comes in! However, She hasn't any attraction or reaction to the" catnip" that is included with this product !" It actually has "NO attraction even after She smells it & looked at it, period! That makes everything worses # 4 Of course the WORSE PART of all this, I made the purchase on My Credit card totally $106, PLUS the "COST OF THE MAILING TAPE" needed to pack the huge box & take it to the post office Now, I see My Refund credit total's less than $75.! So, I lost $30 for this terrible experience ! The advertisement says $19.95 plus shipping & Handling !
I Could Take My Cat to the Pet Shop & have her nails clipped for 3 MONTHS for what "I WASTED " ORDERING THIS "EMERY CAT BOARD "I can only say I wish I had done the "RESEARCH ON THIS PRODUCT " before ordering! I HOPE THIS WILL SAVE SOMEONE THE EXPENSE, TIME & GRIEF this has cost Me!

This product, Emery Cat Board, is not as advertized. The plastic "board" is very flimsy. I could not find anywhere in their ads the size of the emery board, and the picture showed a kitten on it. It is not big enough for grown cats. My cats liked the catnip and the stick toy, but they do not use it to sharpen their claws. It is no different from the much bigger scratch pad that came from Walmart, all I can tell is the cardboard (which they call emery) is more condensed, but that is the only difference except for the flimsy bottom. I purchased a wooden frame several years ago and it still looks new, and it has gone through lots of cats. We replace the cardboard scatch pad when needed.
This is very expensive for a stick toy and catnip (catnip comes with the ones from Walmart, also). I would not recommend this to anyone. And now we have two of them and don't have any use for either one. The groomer is okay but I already had a much better one that my cats love. I suggest that they make it bigger and replace that flimsy plastic bottom with something sturdier.
I have never complained about a product before, but felt like I should this one. We are not getting what we are paying for.

In November 2009 I ordered Emery Cat Board for my cats. During two months, my cats never used it even though I used catnip on it. They often use cat scratch posts made of carpet. Today, January 11, 2010, I discarded it into trash. Overall, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. Also, it RIPPED ME OFF by adding shipping charge at $15.90 AFTER processed my order with my credit card. This firm SHOULD inform me the shipping cost BEFORE processing order. I believe this firm is scammed!
