Bad manners, con money
Just hours ago my mom had a flight traveling from Birmingham airport to Dubai, the women on counter 81 had the worst manners ever. Impolite, grumpy face, demanding, and suspicious of racism, we walked to the counter she had a grumpy face no greeting or what so ever and demanded the passport "give the passport!!", asked some questions she keeps looking other direction and ignoring us (suspicious of racism), we put luggage on the scale she demand us pay the extras "over weight pay up!!", we forced to take out the gifts for relatives, at the end, we still 3 kilos over, okay we payed the 3 kilos extra, which was £16 per kilo, through out time at the counter the manners, and facial looks. we feel they treating us like dirt rather than passengers or customers, after the all bad time at counter when my mom got to the boarding gate she was force to pay over £100 for the hand luggage if not they will throw the luggage away, how heavy can a hand held luggage be? £100 is just stupid and why the women at the counter do not warn us at all about fines? guess she what that to happen. All bad manner and service, con money and racism. not boarding emirates ever.

Blatant neglect for checked luggage
I flew on Emirates from Mumbai to Dubai on August 24, 2008 and then onwards on Gulf Air to Athens via Bahrain. When I checked in at the Emirates counter in Mumbai, I asked them to check my suitcase in all the way to Athens. The representative at the check-in counter said it would not be a problem but I would just have to get my boarding passes for Gulf Air in Dubai, which I had no problem with. When I got to Dubai, I showed my e-ticket to the transfer desk along with my baggage tag which clearly showed that my bag was checked in all the way to Athens via Gulf Air. When I got to Athens at 4am on the 25th, my bag was not there. I filed a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and was told that it may have not made the connection in Bahrain and should be on the next flight. I was in Athens for a wedding and was forced to borrow clothes from other people during my short 4-day stay. When I was flying back on August 28th, I was told that there was confirmation that my bag was still in Dubai and I can claim it with Emirates Airlines in Dubai as it was never passed on to Gulf Air on the 24th. I spent 4 hours at the Emirates counter in Dubai waiting for someone to give me a straight story about what had happened. In the end, the supervisor at the Emirates counter told me to file a report in Manila for my lost baggage as Manila was my final destination. As soon as I arrived in Manila, I spoke to Emirates Airlines and familiarized them with my entire case. They told me to call later in the day as there was another flight from Dubai coming in the evening. I spent a week going back and forth with Emirates Airlines only to be told on 3 different occasions that they found my bag and then told 2 days later that they made a mistake and it was not my bag. They then told me that since it had already been 6 days, they were going to close the case and that I had to go and fight it out with Gulf Air. The problem was that the bag was never given to Gulf Air to begin with so they were unable to find any record of the bag in their system except for the report I filed in Athens on August 25th. When I asked about being compensated for all my trouble the last 12 days, I was told that it was not their problem as Gulf Air was my last carrier. I was lucky to speak to Mr. Anton Soriano at Gulf Air in Manila who went out of his way to track down my bag. He even called Dubai for me only to confirm once again that the bag had been in the custody of Emirates Airlines all this time. Emirates is supposed to be known as a world class airline (and they definitely charge a premium for their airline tickets) but I think they are probably one of the most irresponsible airlines I have ever come across. I would never take Emirates ever again.

cabin staff member
We started our holiday from Newcastle to Dubai on the 1st August, The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, being a diabetic I asked if the snack meal that they were serving could be changed for something more healthy. A few minutes later along comes a tray packed with all the foods that I could eat. After a wonderful stay in Dubai of 4 nights we set off to the airport to travel this time to Hong Kong, again with Emirates Airlines. All went well until the supper tray arrived, jam, cake, penguin biscuit, sugary fruit, croissant and sugary orange juice. The flight attendant who served me was a blond Australian called Alison. When I mentioned to her that I was a diabetic and couldn't eat the meal being served, all she said was "well thats all there is so I'll take it away then" this take it or leave it attitude is not the way to treat customers who are paying your wages. It is hard enough to get diabetic food when travelling on airlines at the best of times, but dealing with people with different illnesses should be a priority. If you can't be nice to the public then don't do the job.

renewal of misplaced cheque
To EMIRATES AIRLINES
I'm sorry but this is not a complaint, just a request, but I do not know where to direct this.
In Feb or March this year - 2008, my daughter was issued with a cheque from Emirates in relation to a lost luggage claim, during our flight to London on Jan 8 this year, of about $165.
Unfortunately, this cheque has been misplaced and although I have tried through our travel agent "Flight Centre" of South Brisbane, twice a few months ago now, to have this cheque re-newed, I have not had any reply.
Would you please contact me so I can give details of my daughter's name etc, and get this cleared as soon as possible?
Thank you,
N. Flynn

bad services
From,
Dr.Priya Ramany,
P.O BOX-132263, GHARNATTA STREET, JEDDAH 21382, SAUDI ARABIA,
To,
THE HEAD, EMIRATES AIRLINES DUBAI,
Dear Sir,
Sub:Resentment over the poor catering services, poor in flight services on board of EK-804, 241, 242, 243, Ticket No:176 5664533701, PNR-DSA7FW, DT-09-06-08
I had the unfortunate experience of traveling in emirates flight for the first time from jeddah-dubai-toronto.Let me detail my unpleasant experiences on board.
Iam a pure vegetarian, I DON'T EAT-EVEN EGGS.
EK-804 said that I have not specified Veg. food, hence they let me to starve from jeddah to dubai.
On reaching Dubai as well as in Toronto, at the airport emirates help desk, I made sure to order for vegetarian indian food covering enroute. To my surprise, I was offered Hindu meal which had
mutton, tuna in breakfast!!!
When I protested to the in flight supervisor, she gave me a staring look as though, I am unnecessarily fussing for nothing, took a note of my complaint and told me that there is nothing she can provide.
Again I was filling my stomach with water and air, thanks to the kind services on board.
If it is difficult to provide a simple vegetarian meal, you should have told me so, since I would have got a parcel arranged for the entire journey.
It is a shame to pronounce emirates airlines as the best in services, WHEN IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE, looking at what I have gone through.
Iam planning to share my bad experience with the media of saudi arabia so that nobody else suffers this treatment in the future.
IT IS A SHAME ON THE EMIRATES TO OFFER SUCH POOR SERVICES AND CHARGE SKY ROCKETING PRICES FOR THE TICKETS.
Hope that atleast there will be suitable action and reply to my accussation ASAP.

inflight service
I Mumtaz Abbas traveled your airline on May 30th 2008, flight # EK211 from Dubai to Houston. I regret to inform you that the service aboard that flight was unsatisfactory. First of all in a 16 hour flight I was served only 2 whole meals. One was right after take off, I was served breakfast. At about 5 p.m Pakistan a small roll was served and then nothing in between, not even water! Every time I rang for the attendants I would get no response from them. I would then have to get up and then get what I needed. At one point in time I was so hungry that I went to the cabin and asked for something to eat. All I was given were two bars of candy, a kit kit and a Mars. I AM A DIABETIC, and go figure your crew upon my being hungry gave me candy! The crew told me that they will be serving a meal shortly but the next meal was served just an hour or so before landing.
Does EMIRATES AIRLINE Pride themselves on this kind of service, or does EMIRATES think that just because all the personal TV's on board work and the on board entertainment is adequate that EMIRATES is THE LEADING AIRLINE OF THE WORD!
This is my forth trip to the USA, first 3 were with competative airlines and NEVER have I had such an unpleasant experience.
I will be travelling back to Karachi via Dubai in August. How does EMIRATES paln to make my journey back satisfactory, Or am I to suffer the unpleaseantness of the EMIRATES crew and the small seats on board your aircrafts during my return journey too?
I will be eagerly waiting for a reply. My contact information is mentioned above.
Thanking you,
Mumtaz
